Mu-sicians participating in the open mic were Shorty Plessinger, Jeannie Ward, Craig Sauter, Darryl Funk, Dale Souders, Sonny Seville, Coby Kauffman, Doug Shetron, Scott Gordon and Larry Cooper. There were several lucky winners of hanging bas-kets donated by Fred Lynch. July 9 will be the next open mic night. Post 606 9 Post 561 5 Post 561 dropped the sea-son opener to visiting Fort Loudon, surrendering nine unanswered runs in the sixth inning. The home squad plat-ed two runs in the second in-ning, benefitting from a 606 throwing error after singles by Dylan Fowler and Luke Fitz. Drew Mellott’s two-out single chased home Fowler with another tally in the fourth. Post 561 stretched the lead to 5-0 through five innings, tacking on their fi-nal runs with a Kasey Fitz single and two Post 606 er-rors. Post 606 then paraded 13 batters to the plate in the sixth inning, scoring nine runs (two earned) on just two hits. Walker Funk hurled five shutout innings for Post 561, surrendering just two hits while striking out eight. Kasey Fitz record-ed the only multi-hit game for Post 561, while also swip-ing two bases.
