Local artist Nancy Hogan of Needmore wrapped up a six-week, once weekly instructional course designed for 5- to 7-year-olds Thursday evening at her Great Cove Road studio. Organized by the Fulton County Parks and Recreation Commission, the class led by Hogan focused on an array of topics such as the basic four forms, proper shading techniques and composition and touched on pencil, charcoal, pastels, watercolor and marker mediums. Seven-year-old Nevaeh Gartland, left, of Harrisonville boasted perfect attendance during the class and is pictured with Hogan holding her final creation - a dragon mask. Fellow students (pictured above left to right) included Hayden Schetrompf and Emma Ott, both of McConnellsburg and Quaid Brady, Needmore. Not pictured is Carter Reed, also of McConnellsburg. Any resident needing additional information regarding the Parks and Recreation's mission or fall calendar of events is asked to contact program director Chanin Mountz at 717-552- 0071 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
