This bald eagle spent about two weeks in August hunting along a stretch of Cove Creek just west of South First Street in McConnellsburg. The bird was spotted numerous times in the vicinity and photographed here by South First Street resident Bill Yocum. Thanks to the state Game Commission’s Bald Eagle Management Plan, the number of eagles in Pennsylvania has increased steadily and dramatically in recent years, roughly 15 percent annually, according to the Game Commission. A good place to view bald eagles in flight in Fulton County is at The Pulpit on top of Tuscarora Mountain during fall migration. 1p1.jpg
