A tri-axle dump truck belonging to P&W Excavating was involved in an accident Monday afternoon that caused it to spill its load onto Great Cove Road. Pennsylvania State Police troopers Bradley Poole and Gary Hibner were dispatched to the accident scene south of McConnellsburg Borough around lunchtime July 8. A press release on the accident was not available as of press time. However, according to reports shared with the “News” from P&W employees on the scene, a tire blew on the tri-axle truck operated by Rita Plessinger of McConnellsburg, causing the truck to strike a guiderail in the area of Kendall Run. Plessinger was able to steer the truck back onto the roadway for a time before it again hit a guiderail and flipped onto its passenger side. Plessinger suffered injuries during the accident, including facial injuries, and required medical attention.
