Southern Fulton High School’s marching band moves along the 87th Alstia Mummers parade route October 27 in Hagerstown, Md. The Mummers Parade has become the largest nighttime parade on the East Coast, now drawing more than 10,000 participants. This year each guard member of the Southern Fulton marching band selected a cause that was special to them and incorporated the awareness ribbon of that cause on their equipment, banner and uniforms. According to band front advisor Karen Smartt, the guard members plan to “live it out” by choosing a community service project associated with one of the causes. 52p1.jpg
