Attains Dean’s List

Meghin Lynn Palmer, daughter of Scott and Dawn Hendershot Palmer, Greencastle, has been named to the spring 2012 dean’s list at Marywood University in Scranton, Pa.

A junior CSD speech language pathology major, Palmer earned a 3.95 gradepoint average (GPA) to qualify for the dean’s list. Her cumulative GPA is 3.90.

In addition to her outstanding academic achievements, Palmer is a Marywood softball standout, having been named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All- American Division III Softball First Team, the university’s first athlete to make First Team Academic All-American status. The outfielder made it to the national ballot for Academic All-American after being named a Capital One All-District IV First Team Academic All-American as voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Palmer was also selected to the First Team All-Colonial States Athletic Conference for the third straight year. She batted .464 with 31 runs scored, 21 stolen bases and 19 RBIs. She has a career batting average of .472 with 64 stolen bases and 98 runs scored.

Palmer is the granddaughter of Daryl Hendershot, Warfordsburg, and the late Sharon Hendershot and granddaughter of Ray Palmer, Greencastle, and the late Ruth Palmer.
