Nathan Wuertenberg of Big Cove Tannery, graduated from McDaniel College, Westminster, Md., Saturday, May 19.

Nathan has a dual major in Spanish and history and was a member of the honors program at the college. He served as managing editor of the Free Press, McDaniel student newspaper, co-president of the Women’s Issues Group and co- director of “The Vagina Monologues,” as well as a peer mentor and writing fellow. He also studied abroad in Mexico and participated in the SHEAR/Mellon American History Fellowship.

Following graduation, he will study in the history program at Ball State University in Indiana, and his ultimate goal is to earn his Ph.D. and teach at the collegiate level.

At baccalaureate and the senior honors convocation, Nathan was presented with three awards: The Frank and Margaret Malone Award for Excellence in a Foreign Language– Spanish, The Phi Delta Gamma Award, and The United States History Award.
