Skills USA District 7 competitive events were held recently at Fulton County Area Vocational-Technical School and Admiral Peary Career Tech Center. Events and competitors included architectural drafting – Taylor Bohrer; preschool teaching assistant – Laura McDaid; job interview – Lexi Shore; and welding – Stanton Souders. Placing third were Blayne Hill in action skills; Nick Netz in extemporaneous speaking; Kim Schaeffer in nurse assisting; Beau Wilson in prepared speech. Bringing home second-place medals in their events were Colby Shaffer – carpentry; Sarah Winegardner - related technical math; Sarah Null – technical drafting; and first aid/CPR – John Washabaugh. First-place winners who will go on to state competition in April are Kelly Keeseman in basic healthcare and Kalli Mabe in medical technology.
