A total of 343 miniature American flags were snapping in the wind outside the McConnellsburg Firehall Sunday in remembrance of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Fire Company Chief Pete Lynch shared with the "News" the flags were carefully placed as a tribute by Company 56 members as a way to honor New York City's 343 fallen firefighters. In addition to the flag display, the company also sounded its siren for one minute Sunday as a salute, Lynch said. 1p1.jpg
