Fulton County Medical Center Long-Term Care residents went on their annual fishing trip to the Mercersburg Sportsmen’s Association (MSA) Friday, May 14. Fifteen residents enjoyed the beautiful summerlike day while catching fish for the evening meal. Residents enjoyed grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch. They also took pleasure in eating fresh watermelon and the ever-popular Mercersburg specialty, Milky Way ice cream. Volunteers from MSA helped the residents catch and clean the fish. The fish were not biting this year and residents caught less fish, but the ones that were caught were huge. Residents Wallace Bricker got the prize for the biggest fish, which measured a whopping 24 inches and weighed well over five pounds. This marks the 26th fishing event, and everyone is already looking forward to next year’s outing.
