Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

The weekend was beautiful and great for all mothers to enjoy their special day on Sunday.

A large crowd attended the Mother’s Day dinner at Hustontown Firehall. The fire company folks prepared a very nice smorgasbord with a large variety of foods with desserts.

Pastor Bill Kuhn is making a trip out to the Indian reservation. We wish him a safe and enjoyable trip.

Sorry to not have mentioned recovery wishes last week to Tammy Cook, who had the misfortune of breaking her ankle recently. But she doesn’t let it stop her from doing her job as a paramedic. Anyway, hope all is well soon.

Glad to see Clair and Dorothy Miller back from their trip to Florida over the winter months. Also Lester and Margaret Newman are home from Myrtle Beach.

Belated happy birthday to Harrie Hill, who had a special day on May 8, and to Kate Berkstresser on May 15.

Congratulations to all involved in the first musical “Grease” at Forbes Road. It was a sold-out crowd both Friday and Saturday nights.

Household hint: Paint brush care. Place a hardened paint brush in a little vinegar. Also vegetable oil is great to aid in cleaning a paint brush.
