Families from the Fulton County Library’s Family Place Program and the Fulton County Center for Families enjoy a presentation by Denise Chestnut, early childhood educator for Even Start Family Literacy. About 28 children and 25 adults attended the program that featured ways to have fun with puppets and props in conjunction with early literacy. The puppets were made from a range of readily available materials, such as feather dusters, paper plates and socks. There will be another Family Place Parent/Child Workshop this Friday, April 23, at 10:30 a.m. in the library’s community room. Parent/child workshops engage preschoolers in educational play and creative activities while introducing parents to valuable information on speech and language development, child development, nutrition, physical fitness and movement, books and reading. Knowledgeable professionals give advice on being your child's first teacher.
