Pa. Woman To Stand Trial For Emergency Room Threat
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (AP) – A western Pennsylvania woman has been ordered to stand trial on charges she threatened to kill emergency room workers who she felt weren’t treating her son quickly enough.
Twenty-eight-year-old Mary Ann Christensen, of Johnstown, was arrested Oct. 23 at the Memorial Medical Center, also in that city.
Police say she threatened to kill the ER staff, then allegedly grabbed a hospital security officer by the throat when he tried to intervene. When a nurse tried to take her son away so he wouldn’t see her being arrested, police say Christensen attacked the nurse.
Christensen doesn’t have a listed phone. Her defense attorney has not commented on the results of Thursday’s preliminary hearing.
