With flags flying at half staff honoring the 13 slain in a shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Texas, the Fulton County veterans monuments stand ready for Veterans Day observance scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday. Lt. Col. Jeff Powell is the featured speaker at the ceremony honoring all military veterans. Fulton County has erected four monuments in honor of its veterans. The first monument on the left is to Civil War, Spanish-American War and World War I veterans. The center monument is dedicated to all Fulton County veterans, and the third is dedicated to World War II, Korea and Vietnam veterans.
