Ayr Township supervisors Sonny Harr, Gary Hopkins, and Tom Nesbitt met Thursday, Jan. 31, to discuss spring bulky items day. It has been tentatively scheduled for May 3 and 4, pending Peck’s Refuse Disposal schedule and approval from Mc- Connellsburg Borough and Todd Township.

Sharon Hann, Pennsylvania Municipal Code Alliance manager, contacted township secretary Denise Mellott to discuss potential “nuisance” ordinances. She requested a copy of all Ayr Township ordinances.

The Fulton County Conservation District made the township aware that it has approved a general permit coverage to JLG Industries for military expansion.

The supervisors received correspondence from CES Engineering regarding the Meadow Grounds boat dock project. The PA Fish & Boat Commission is applying for approval for a joint permit application for a water obstruction and encroachment permit. The township has 30 days to submit any comments to the Department of Environmental Protection dated Jan. 10.

Correspondence was received from Park’s Garbage Service informing the township that it is implementing a fuel fee of 8.5 percent of the current monthly rate. The fuel fee will not affect the bulky waste billing currently being received.
