Certificates Awarded To Career Development Students

Not pictured are Kyle McFadden and Maya Tel- Employment & Training, Inc. of Fulton County, an affiliate office of the Pennsylvania CareerLink, Huntingdon County, had the honor of presenting certificates of achievement to 11 area youths who took part in the fall 2018 career development program at Southern Fulton and McConnellsburg high schools.

The certificates were awarded for successful completion of the career development program. During the career development education program, participants were provided the opportunity to explore local labor market statistics, learn about post-secondary training options, high demand occupations and techniques on how to meet employer expectations. Participants prepared professional presentations that highlighted their job shadowing experiences and participated in mock interviews.

Stephanie Goff, Southern Fulton High School, went above and beyond her expectations and brought in her pet, Buddy, to enlighten the presentation regarding her job shadowing experience with a local veterinary office. Jennifer Horst, counselor from Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, also came to the job shadowing presentations to assist with the evaluations. Southern Alleghenies Region’s youth operations specialist James Cole paid a visit to the career development class at Southern Fulton High School.

Employment & Training Inc. of Fulton County is currently recruiting for out-of-school youths between ages of 16 and 24 for the work experience program. Programs are made possible through the support of the Southern Alleghenies Workforce Development Board.
