Racing Roundup

Tim Shaffer’s first career win at Lincoln Speedway Saturday night came in the form of a huge payday as he took the $27,000 in the fifth annual Dirt Classic presented by the Kasey Kahne Foundation.

Shaffer also did something not many racers have been able to do – pass Lance Dewease. Dewease led the first 34 laps but Shaffer took control and drove off for the big win. JJ Grasso also got around Dewease on the final lap to take the runner-up finish with Dewease third over Danny Dietrich and Matt Campbell. Rounding out the top-10 were Trey Starks, Brian Brown, TJ Stutts, Chad Trout and Lucas Wolfe.

Dewease did get a win on the weekend winning Friday’s makeup Al Hamilton Tribute race at Williams Grove Speedway over Brian Montieth, Brian Brown, Lucas Wolfe and Danny Dietrich.

Wolfe won the regular 410 Sprint Car Main Friday over Freddie Rahmer, Danny Dietrich, Cory Haas and Lance Dewease.

Kyle Smith won the PA 305 Sprint Car Main at the Grove over Drew Ritchey, Tyler Denochick, Darren Miller and Scott Ellerman.

Darren Miller inherited the lead on the final lap of Saturday’s Keystone Racesaver 305 Sprint Blue Collar Classic at Port Royal Speedway when leader Kyle Smith was involved in a crash with lapped traffic. Miller won over Jeff Miller, Zach Newlin, Austin Bishop and Jonathon Jones. Trent Breneman won the 358 Late Model Main at the Port over Justin Weaver, Andrew Yoder, Dylan Yoder and Shaun Jones.
