County Hires New Recycling Coordinator

Commissioners Stuart Ulsh, Pete Lynch and Rodney McCray hired George Johnston as the new part-time recycling coordinator for the Fulton County Conservation District at the weekly Tuesday meeting on October 2. Afterwards commissioners met with Emergency Management Agency Director Brian Barton in regards to a signature on the Emergency Management Performance Grant. (EMPG). They approved the 2018 EMPG for salaries and benefits. Commissioners also signed a 2018 State Homeland Security Grant Agreement for the South Central Mountains Region.

Sue Cubbage, director of the Fulton County Food Basket, met with commissioners to endorse the 2017-18 state food purchase expense report. An endorsement was also approved on the general contract for services agreement between McCutcheon Enterprises (a waste management service) and the county of Fulton for Hazmat contracting services in the amount $2,500 per year, effective Oct. 1, 2018 through Oct. 21, 2021.

In other business, commissioners met with Anthony D’Anna and Jonathan Piper in regards to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Act 537, or the Sewage Facilities Act, and approval was given for the application for burial expenses of deceased service person, Donald Smith, in the amount of $100.

Commissioners also met with the tax assessment board and held tax appeals from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
