Turkey Dinners Breezewood Volunteer Fire Co. will hold turkey dinners October 14 and November 11, at 11 a.m. until sold out. Meals will be available to eat in or to take out. Mark calendars for trunk-or-treat October 27. Proceeds benefit Breezewood Volunteer Fire Co.

Free Lunch Lunch will be served every first Friday of each month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at McConnellsburg United Methodist Faith and Life Center, across from the courthouse. Parking available behind the church. Soup, sandwiches, salad bar, potato bar and dessert bar are served. Dine-in or carryouts with donations accepted.

Democratic Fall Dinner The Democratic fall dinner will be held October 13, at 6:30 p.m., at McConnellsburg Firehall. Cost is adults $15; children 7-12 $7.50; and under 6 are free. Get tickets from any committee person or at the door.

Free Meal A free meal will be served the second Tuesday of each month at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 220 North Third Street. Please join in for good fellowship.

Historical Society Tea Fulton County Historical Society will hold a fall tea September 22, at 11:30 a.m., in the banquet room at the museum annex, 211 Lincoln Way East, Mc- Connellsburg. Guest speaker will be Helen Overly. Tickets are $10 for adults and $4.50 for children less than 12. Republican Fall Dinner Fulton County Republican Committee will hold its fall dinner Saturday, October 13, at 6 p.m., at Hustontown Firehall. Spaghetti Dinner An all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner will be held Saturday, September 22, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Served will be spaghetti, salad, breadsticks, fruit cup, dessert and beverage by donation. REUNIONS

FR/Hustontown Alumni Banquet Hustontown-Forbes Road alumni banquet will be held Saturday, October 6, at Hustontown Firehall. Doors open at 4 p.m. for visitation. The meal of ham and chicken will be served at 6 p.m. Cost is $11.50 per person. All graduates from both high schools are urged to attend. Souders Reunion The annual Frank and Hazel Souders reunion will be held Saturday, September 29, at Cito Fellowship Hall. Bring a covered dish and a dessert. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. Bring a gift for the auction. The family is working on a cookbook for next year’s reunion. Bring favorite recipes.

Fall Festival The Akersville Fall Festival will be held October 18, 19 and 20, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 3431 South Valley Road, Crystal Spring. Fifty spaces of crafters and vendors, good food, cost of food by donation, ice cream, antique cars and tractors, kids activities, raffles, live music and so much more. Come join in for a fun-filled family friendly day. From Route 30 take 915 south 2.5 miles; from I70 take Crystal Spring Exit 151, to 915 north 3.5 miles.

Road Rally The Frontier Barn Quilt Trail will host a Road Rally, powered by F&M Trust, Saturday, October 6. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. at Fulton County Fairgrounds. The rally will be an approximately two-hour scavenger hunt drive through the county viewing some of the barn quilts featured on the state’s largest barn quilt trail. Yard/Bake Sale A yard and bake sale will be held at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Faith Center October 4 and 5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and October 6 from 8 a.m. to noon. There will be a bag sale for some clothing.

X Card Shoots Fulton County Pistol & Rifle Club will hold X card shoots every Friday night at 7 p.m., thru November 16. Kitchen opens and registration starts at 5:30 p.m. Meat prizes and special rounds for cash or other prizes.

Barn Quilt Tour Fulton County Historical Society will hold a fall Frontier Barn Quilt bus tour Friday, October 19. The tour includes nearly 40 new and unique barn quilts in western Fulton County and a visit to the Akersville Fall Festival. The bus will leave the McConnellsburg Giant parking lot at 10 a.m., and arrive at Akersville for 1½ hours of shopping at more than 50 vendors of crafts, apparel, antiques, vintage farm equipment and more; display watching and lunch. After lunch, the tour will head south from Akersville in some of the most beautiful rural countryside in the Appalachian Mountain Range and return to the Giant parking lot around 3:30 p.m. More information and tickets are available by contacting Mike Crampton at 717-830-5953; or e-mail, info@frontierbarnquilttrail.com. Fall Fest Fall Fest at Hixon Bible Camp will be held Saturday, September 22, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Live music by Biscuits & Gravy starting at noon. Apple butter making all day. Pop-Up Library Join at the Warfordsburg Senior Center and Cathy’s Store in Crystal Spring for a pop-up library. Check out books and other items. Let the library know ahead of time and they will bring it. Register for a library card and access online services. Join in first and third Thursdays from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Warfordsburg and 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Crystal Spring. All are invited.

Cruise-In For A Cause Rescheduled Cruise-In For a Cause will be held October 6 (rain or shine) at Thomas All Things Automotive, 21518 Great Cove Road, McConnellsburg, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thi even tis being held to benefit Sandy Mellott (Needmore) and Darryl Kipe who are battling cancer. A $10 donation is being accepted per registered vehicle with all donations going directly to Sandy and Darryl. Any year or type of cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome. The first 50 registered vehicles will receive a thank-you gift bag. Food will be available for purchase by Hustontown Fire Co. Bake sale items will also be available. No alcoholic beverages. Cruisin Over Cancer As a part of Cruise-In For A Cause, those who have been affected by cancer will be recognized. Come plant a flower flag in the Cruisin Over Cancer garden in honor or memory of loved ones. All registered will be announced the day of the cruise-in. Democrat Office Opening The grand opening of the Democrat campaign office will be held Saturday, September 22, at 10 a.m. The office will be open every Saturday starting September 22 through Saturday, November 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop by to pick up signs and information on candidates.

Meals Available Once a month volunteers pack up boxes of food to be given to anyone in need in the Waterfall area. Christmas Concer t Singers Needed Mercersburg Area Community Chorus is accepting new singers for its annual Christmas concert. Rehearsals are 7 p. m. to 9 p. m. on Tuesday evenings beginning September 18 at James Buchanan Middle School. The chorus, consisting of 100+ singers, is directed by Richard Rotz and accompanied by professional orchestra and soloists. Nur turing Parenting Classes Fulton County Family Partnership is offering free nurturing parenting classes at 1 p. m. October 15, at 22438 Great Cove Road, McConnellsburg. Learn to be more effective communciating with children, setting limits and avoiding power struggles. Learn to be a positive and supportive parent to build a better relationship with a child. Farmer’s Market Vouchers Farmer’s market vouchers are still available at the Fulton County Area Agency on Aging. Individuals age 60 and over who have not yet received vouchers this year with income for a 1- person household less than $22,459 and a 2- person household less than $30,451 are eligible for the vouchers. Vouchers will be available until September

Scouts Accepting Members Troop 43, chartered by the United Presbyterian Church of McConnellsburg, is accepting boys ages 11- 17. Master Gardener Class A Penn State Extension Master Gardener class on sedum centerpieces will be held Saturday, October 6, from 9 a. m. to 11 a. m., at the Extension office. Cost is $20. Participants will be given an opportunity to make an indoor autumn centerpiece.

RELIGION

Revival Dublin Mills Community Church, 2700 Dublin Mills Road, Hustontown, will hold fall revival meetings with Evangelist Gary Bill September 30 thru October 3. The meetings will begin at 10 a. m. Sunday, September 30, and will be held each evening at 7 p. m., with Wednesday, October 3, be - ing the last service. The meetings will include heart- stirring preaching and special music each night. Revival New Grenada Church of God will hold revival every evening at 7 p. m. September 23- 26.

Tonoloway Worship Service Friends of Tonoloway will hold its annual fall worship services Sunday, October 7, at 2 p. m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Roger Myers, pastor of Brandts Church of the Brethren in Franklin County. Pastor Myers has family in the Tonoloway area. Special music will be provided by Sharon Mennonite Singers. Sportsmen’s League Meeting Fulton County Sportsmen’s

League will meet at 7 p. m., in the stone house at the trout nursery Friday, September 21. Discussed will be the fall raffle fundraiser and winter projects.

Narcotics Anonymous Meets two times per week in Mc- Connellsburg. NA is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. Members share their successes and challenges in overcoming active addiction and living drug- free, productive lives through the application of the principles contained within the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of NA (patterned after Alcoholics Anonymous.) Anyone is welcome no matter what is used or how big the desire to stop using is. Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held every Monday morning at 11 a. m. (even holidays), at Fulton County Medical Center Community Health and Wellness building located at 294 Lincoln Way West and every Wednesday at 7 p. m. in the basement of McConnells burg alumni building, 301 East Maple Street. Both are open meetings and anyone can attend.

Nutrition Class Fulton County nutrition awareness classes are held at Warfordsburg Senior Center on the third Monday of every month from 10: 30 a. m. to noon. When the third Monday is a holiday, the class is held the fourth Monday. To register or sign up for lunch call 717- 294- 6020.
