Charles L. Fix

Mercersburg, 85

Charles L. “Jack” Fix, 85, Mercersburg, died Thursday August 2, 2018.

He was born May 18, 1933 in Cove Gap, Pa., a son of the late Charles Walter and Grace Walck Fix.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1950-1954 and was a Korean War veteran.

He was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot for 33 years until he retired in 1988. He was the past post commander of the VFW 6241 in Mercersburg. He joined the Fort Loudon American Legion Post 606 in 1956 and eventually he transferred his membership to the Mercersburg American Legion Post 517 in 2003. He received his 60-year membership plaque in 2016.

He thoroughly enjoyed his many years of hunting on Mt. Parnell, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and playing with his Chihuahuas, “Sweetie” and “Daisy.”

He is survived by one son, Jackie Fix; one sister, Harnet Butler; and three stepdaughters: Lora Metcalf, Crystal Flasher and Renita Mellott as well as seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancey Lee Repp Fix; three brothers: Ronnie, Lee and John Fisher; and one sister, Bertha Walter.

Services were private and at the convenience of the family. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home in McConnelsburg was in charge of arrangements.
