Bedford Co. Man Charged In Fatal Crash

STAFF REPORT

Robert E. Burkholder, 32, Mann’s Choice, was charged with homicide by vehicle and involuntary manslaughter arising from an accident that killed Connie J. Seville, according to online court documents.

The accident, which occurred on April 10 of this year, happened when Seville was driving east along the 1200 block of Lincoln Highway and a westbound Ford F-250 truck driven by Burkholder failed to properly make a right-hand curve. He then crossed the centerline and struck Seville’s vehicle.

Burkholder received minor injuries, according to police reports, but Seville was pronounced dead at the scene in Brush Creek Township.

Charges against Burkholder were filed Wednesday in the office of Magisterial District Judge Tamela M. Heming in Needmore.

In addition to the two previously mentioned charges, Burkholder also faces summary counts of failure to keep to the right, failure to yield to the right, disregard of traffic lane, careless driving, and failure to use a safety belt.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Monday, Aug. 27 at 1 p.m.
