Biglerville claimed victory in this seesaw affair in soggy conditions to open the Division 2 Tournament at Boiling Springs High School. Fans had barely settled into their seats before Post 561 claimed the first lead of the day when Grayson Hall launched the second pitch of the game over the right fielder’s head for an inside the park homerun.

Biglerville answered with a single run in the third. Post 561 responded in the top of the fourth. Lucas McClain walked, and Weston Brunner tripled over the center fielder to score McClain for the 2-1 lead. Biglerville tied the game in the bottom of the fifth.

Post 561 plated their final run of the day in the sixth as Matt Brown singled, stole second, and scored on Walker Funk’s single through the right side. Biglerville again answered in the sixth to tie the score at 3-3, setting the stage for the seventh inning finish. With conditions deteriorating rapidly and the heaviest rain of the afternoon falling, Biglerville’s leadoff hitter walked to start the seventh before stealing second base. He then took off for third and scored as the errant throw slipped into the outfield, giving Biglerville their only lead of the day. Hall (2-4) posted the lone multi-hit game for Post 561.

Tourney Updates

Due to inclement weather, the Division 2 tourney has been delayed. The Post 561 game with Post 262 is the only completed game to date. Annville and Mt. Holly began play Sunday evening, only to fall victim to the rain. Annville leads that suspended game 1-0 in the middle of the fourth inning. Schedule updates are pending.
