The Lunch Box Café was bustling at noon on Monday as patrons were purchasing salads, ready-made sandwiches and flatbread pizzas. Earlier Monday, Jon Norris, hospital district manager, and Trish Spellman, vice president of operations of Cura Hospitality, were on hand to participate in the grand opening of the café that’s located inside the Express Care entrance, identified also by a blue No. 3 flag. FCMC employees and guests gathered with Cura for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“We are delighted to partner with Fulton County Medical

Center,” said Spellman. “It’s always exciting and great to go near and dear to everyone’s heart, which is food and that’s what we do. We are thrilled to be part of your organization and helping you achieve your goals. We’re here for you, led by Elaine and her team.” Cura will provide the food services for the Lunch Box Cafe and continue to maintain the full service cafeteria.

Residents were asked for their input and Ray submitted the winning name. He celebrated his 65th birthday on Monday, so in addition to cutting the ribbon, he was serenaded with birthday wishes and presented with a birthday cake. Ray has a long history at FCMC as his beloved mother, Doris, was very active in the FCMC auxiliary.

The iCare Lounge adjoins the Lunch Box Café with seating for 42 guests. It is named for the FCMC Foundation’s employee-giving program. The Lunch Box Café is open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. It is open to the public.
