Appointed Commander 94th Intelligence Squadron

At Fort Meade, Md.

Air Force Lt. Col. Rachael (Ott) Chancey took command of the 94th Intelligence Squadron at Fort Meade, Md., in an impressive ceremony held June 28 that was attended by many friends and family.

Lt. Col. Chancey is the daughter of Jeff and Pam Ott, Greencastle, both formerly of McConnellsburg, and granddaughter of Rena Ott and Anne Gobin, both of McConnellsburg. She has served in the Air Force since May 2002, upon her graduation from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Lt. Col. Chancey most recently served on the Air Force Special Operations Command Intelligence staff as the chief of Intelligence Operations in Hurlburt Field, Fla. She was responsible for managing global Air Force Special Operation’s Command (AFSOC) of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations. This included full motion video processing, exploitation, and dissemination, targeting, Foreign Internal Defense, cyber operation, and command and control.

Chancey was promoted to lieutenant colonel effective Feb. 1, 2017, and has served extensively overseas. She is married to Maj. David Chancey and they have one son, Charles.
