Borough Council Approves Variance

At its monthly meeting July 3 McConnellsburg Borough Council, after a brief discussion, approved a variance request from Steve Wible to allow an office in a residential building located at 403 Lincoln Way East.

Council also decided to have Jim Gress repaint all borough crosswalks prior to the start of the new school year. Lastly, council members looked over a draft received from the Pennsylvania Municipal Code Alliance that provided a review of borough ordinances. Council agreed to forward the draft to their solicitor,

Stanley Kerlin, for further consideration.

Bids for the Fulton House painting job will be opened on Aug. 1.

During regular business, council approved June payments totaling $156,844.09. Revenue for the same period was $100,161.26, leaving a July 1 balance $30,008.40 for the month of July.

Borough Council members present at last week’s meeting were President Rick Buterbaugh, Pat Booth, Adam Gress, Travis Bard, and secretary Jack Fields. Also present were Dan Adams and Steve Wible.
