ACT 64

Drugs and paraphernalia were found at 26 Gerald Circle in McConnellsburg on June 10 at 6:40 p.m. According to state police, Daniel Shields II, 31, McConnellsburg, was found in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

PFA Violation

A protection-from-abuse violation occurred on the 200 block of Black Ridge Road on June 10 at 2:45 p.m. According to state police, Juan Nippers Sr., 41, Needmore, is accused of violating terms of his PFA. Nippers was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Tamela Heming and was released on a $10,000 unsecured bail.

Terroristic Threats

A man made terroristic threats at 408 North St. in McConnellsburg on June 8 at 12:38 p.m. According to state police, David House, 41, McConnellsburg, is accused of becoming intoxicated and firing his rifle within McConnellsburg Borough. He also threatened to kill Georgie Mae Babcock, 38, McConnellsburg. He has been charged with simple assault, reckless endangerment, endangering another person, and public drunkenness.

Car Crash

A car crash occurred at the mile marker 160.1 on I-70 on June 7 at 8:33 p.m. According to state police, Peter Overly, 47, Vandergrift, was in the left passing lane of I-70 when a PennDOT truck had its hazard lights on and was traveling in the right lane at a slow rate of speed. While Overly was attempting to pass the truck, he failed to notice a 2017 Mack truck driven by Clinton Garland, 50, Warfordsburg, also traveling at a slow speed. When Overly tried to avoid Garland by moving into the right lane, he struck the PennDOT truck. At the point of impact Overly’s passenger Emily Hood, 18, Irwin, was ejected from the vehicle through the passenger side door. Overly then traveled back into the left lane, hitting Garland’s Mack truck. Overly’s car continued traveling southeast and then went through the guiderail along the left passing lane and into the median. Overly and Hood sustained possible serious injuries, although Garland and PennDOT drivers were unhurt. Assisting on the scene was Trooper Gelvin, Needmore Fire and EMS, PennDOT, and Fisher’s Towing.

Car Crash

A two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Buchanan Trail and JLG Drive on May 25 at 8:08 p.m.. According to state police, Timothy Weaver, 19, Mount Union, failed to yield to oncoming traffic at the above intersection. As a result, Kim Mills, 59, McConnellsburg, impacted Weaver’s vehicle. Both of their vehicles had major front-end damage.

Public Drunkeness

A man was found publicly intoxicated at 945 Lincoln Highway on June 6 at 2:34 p.m. According to state police, Quentin DeShong, 28, Breezewood, appeared in a public place under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, to the degree that he might endanger himself or other persons or property, or annoy persons in his vicinity. To wit, DeShong annoyed the owner of the auto lot located at the above address, and was transported to Fulton County Medical Center over concerns of alcohol poisoning.


A theft occurred on Hunter Lane in Bethel Township sometime June 4 or 5. According to state police, unknown actors removed galvanized metal fence wire from the property belonging to an 87-year old male in Warfordsburg before fleeing the scene undetected. PSP McConnellsburg investigated the incident.

Car Crash

A crash occurred on Lincoln Way East near Fifth Street on June 6 at 2:52 p.m.. According to state police, a 2006 Hyundai Tiburon was traveling east behind a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta. When the Jetta slowed to a stop near Fifth Street due to traffic, the driver of the Tiburon became distracted and rear-ended the Jetta, causing minor damage. The driver of the Tiberon was then arrested and charged with driving under the influence of controlled substances and possession of paraphernalia.
