Boro Deals With Regular Business

By Cassidy Pittman

McConnellsburg Borough Council met at its monthly meeting last week to handle routine business matters. The council received its liquid fuel fund allocation from the county in the amount of $1,438.98. For security, a new radio will be purchased for the borough’s truck.

During the meeting, the council acknowledged the new code enforcement officer, who will begin immediately.

Before the council ended the meeting a letter from the Fulton County Conservation District was read. The letter addressed the “pulling of recycling bins.” All six bins were at one time operated by Advance Disposal; however, they can no long cover the cost of Fulton County bins. In short, the letter requested that the borough pledge 50 cents per resident per year to help maintain the bins. The letter’s request was tabled.

During regular business, council approved checks amounting to $23,925.03.

Borough Council members present were President Rick Buterbaugh, Pat Booth, Adam Gress, Dave Washabaugh IV, Travis Bard, and secretary Jack Fields.
