Ethnic Intimidation, Scattering Rubbish

According to state police, bags of racial propaganda and birdseed were dispersed around 104 West Wood St. on April 22 between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Speigle at PSP McConnellsburg at 717-485-3131.

PFA Violation

A protection-from-abuse violation occurred at 3026 Gem Bridge Rd. on April 26, at 9:07 a.m. According to state police, Alka Marie Routzahn, 62, is accused of violating an active PFA for a 63-year-old male. Applicable charges were filed.

Domestic Violence

A domestic violence crime occurred at Bard’s along Great Cove Road on April 11 at 2:30 p.m.. According to state police, Lynn Bradford, 47, Warfordsburg, engaged in a fight with a 41- year-old female, also from Warfordsburg. The argument turned physical when the defendant bit and scratched the victim and threatened her with a pocket knife. Applicable charges were filed.

Car Crash

A Franklin County crash involved two Fulton County residents in Peters Twp. along Rte. 30 on May 1 at 4:05 p.m.. According to state police, Chad Remsburg, 36, McConnellsburg, was traveling west on Lincoln Way in his 2002 Pontiac Bonneville with Ronnie Smith, 37, Mc- Connellsburg, behind him in a 1998 Ford Club Wagon. When Remsburg slowed his vehicle to make a left turn onto Hawbaker Drive, Smith failed to stop in time, crashing into the back of Remsburg’s Bonneville. Smith was transferred to Fulton County Medical Center by Marion Center EMS as a precaution.

One Car Crash

A crash occurred along Great Cove Road on April 29 at 11:07 a.m. According to state police, Austin Baker, 18, McConnellsburg, was traveling north in a 1999 Volkswagen Jetta, just .8 mile before the intersection of Cito and Great Cove roads. Baker began to lose control of his vehicle and fishtailed. In an attempt to regain control, Baker overturned his steering wheel, causing him to crash into an embankment. Baker collided into the embankment several times before coming to a final rest on the vehicle’s roof. Baker was wearing a seat belt and only reported minor injuries to his hands and face.

Car Crash

A crash took place at the intersection of Great Cove and Klondike roads on May 3 at 3:28 p.m. According to state police, a 17-year-old male from Warfordsburg was preparing to turn onto Klondike Road in his 2003 Ford Focus when Judith Shriver, 64, Harrisonville, failed to stop her 2004 Cadillac Escalade in time. Subsequently, Patricia Keefer, 58, Needmore, also failed to stop and hit the Focus with her 2002 Cadillac GS300. No injuries were reported.

Van Strikes Deer

A crash occurred shortly before Lincoln Highway and Jamie Road on May 5 at 5:54 p.m. According to state police, Donald Bard, 75, Needmore was traveling east on Lincoln Way when a deer ran into the roadway, striking Bard’s 2008 Chrysler Town and Country. No fire or EMS was needed.


According to state police, Daniel Nonemaker, Mc- Connellsburg, was found trespassing on 2057 Blacks Mountain Road by a trail camera. Anyone with information contact PSP Mc- Connellsburg at 717-485-3131.

Unauthorized Administration Of Intoxicant

A woman unknowingly ingested an intoxicant on April 21 between the hours of 9-10 p.m. According to state police, a 35-year-old female from McConnellsburg was at the American Legion when an unknown substance was placed in the beverage she was consuming. The accused is a 61-year-old male from McConnellsburg. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP-Mc- Connellsburg at 717-485-3131.

Fleeing And Attempting To Elude A Police Officer

Three motorcyclists from Maryland were arrested at 12433 Lincoln Highway for fleeing from police on April 14 at 1:51 p.m.. According to state police, Robert Smith, 23, Hagerstown; James Sills, 31, Maugansville; and Zachary Hardy, 25, Hagerstown, were traveling west on Route 30 at a high rate of speed. A pursuit began and approximately three miles into the pursuit, two of the men crashed at the top of Tower Ridge. The other operator returned to the scene. All operators are receiving numerous citations that included fleeing, eluding, reckless driving, and speeding. The investigation is ongoing. Charges were filed with District Court 39-4-02.

DUI/Reckless Endangerment Of A Child

A local woman was arrested at the intersection of Lincoln Way East and Crystal Drive on April 25 at 3:10 p.m.. According to state police, Chanda Bartholow, 23, McConnellsburg, failed to stop at a posted stop sign on Crystal Drive

Bartholow proceeded through the intersection in front of a victim, resulting in a crash. While talking to police, Bartholow related that she had smoked marijuana earlier in the day. Bartholow was put through tests and taken to FCMC for an attempted draw of blood and urine. She was then processed at PSP Mc- Connellsburg and was later released on her own recognizance.
