After being honored last month with induction into the Fulton County All-Sports Hall of Fame for his tireless volunteer work as a baseball coach and field manager, Don Fowler, retired coach of the McConnellsburg High School Spartan baseball team, received another award – $1,500 donated in his honor to help with repairs of the McConnellsburg Alumni Building.

Morgan Franklin Consulting, owned and operated by brothers Bob and Ron Morgan, made the donation in honor of Fowler because of his dedication to the sport of baseball and the important life lessons he was able to pass on to his players. The brothers were coached by Fowler back when they were Spartans and have carried into adulthood the lessons their coach taught them throughout their time as MHS baseball players.

The youngest brother, Ron, was also best friends with Fowler’s son, Kevin. In a short telephone interview, he fondly recalled the many fun nights spent at the Fowler house, sitting with the family around the table and playing baseball and other games.

“The time and energy Mr. Fowler put into the care of the baseball field and the care he taught us to have for it was amazing. We just wanted to show our appreciation for that,” Ron said.

Since graduating from MHS, the brothers have done well. After opening their firm Morgan Franklin Consulting in 1998, they went on to be ranked number 12 on Consulting Magazine’s 2012’s Best Firms to Work For list. They were also named 2012 500/5000 list of Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America. They have a main office in Washington, D.C., one in Atlanta, Ga., and San Francisco, Calif.
