A DUI occurred at the 7600 block of Cito Road on April 21 at 12:33 a.m. According to state police, Joni Lynch, 43, McConnellsburg, was pulled over during a traffic stop for a moving violation. Upon further investigation, the police found Lynch exhibiting signs of intoxication, and she was subsequently arrested for DUI.

Car Crash

A hit-and-run occurred in Peter’s Township, Franklin County, on April 19 at 11:01 a.m. According to state police, Kathy Termin, 64, Mc- Connellsburg, was preparing to make a left turn from Lincoln Highway onto Hawbaker Drive when an unknown car drove up and attempted to pass her 2017 Hyundai Accent in an unsafe manner. The unknown car side-swiped Termin on the passenger side then fled the scene. The Accent sustained minor damage and was able to leave the roadway under its own power. No injuries were reported.

Identity Theft

A local man became a victim of identity theft on March 29. According to state police, a 50-year- old man from McConnellsburg found that his personal information was used to open a Verizon wireless account and order three iPhones. The state police warn readers to be aware of such fraudulent practices and safeguard personal information.

Retail Theft

A retail theft occurred at the McConnellsburg Sheetz on April 15 between 1:42 p.m. and 1:50 p.m. According to state police, Joe Farmer, 30, Greencastle, has been named as the suspect who removed items from inside the store without paying. Charges were filed through 30-4-02.

Theft By Deception

A local man became a victim of a telephone scam on April 19 at 8 p.m. on the 23000 block of Great Cove Road. According to state police, a 36-year- old Mc- Connellsburg male wired $800 to an unknown individual as a result of a telephone scam. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Speigle at state police at 717-475-3131.


A crash occurred on Old 126 April 10 at 2:30 p.m. According to state police, Linda Sollenberger, 62, Warfordsburg, was traveling north in her 2014 Hyundai Elantra when she left her lane and struck a guiderail. Sollenburger continued through the guidrail several feet before coming to a stop. No injuries were reported.


A harassment occurred at 112 E. Maple St. on April 13 around noon. According to state police, a 36-year-old female from Bedford struck a 20-year-old male in the face with an open hand. The victim did not want to pursue charges.


A crash occurred on Old 126 on April 7 at 4 a.m. According to state police, Derek Powell, 24, Warfordsburg, was traveling north on Old 126 and oversteered into a turn at a speed greater than reasonable, causing his 2204 Dodge Ram to travel off the roadway and strike a tree. Upon hitting the tree, the car continued forward, striking a second tree before coming to a final stop. Powell was not wearing his seat belt.
