The Spartans (2-3) traveled to James Buchanan on Saturday and dropped a non-league game to the Rockets 6-3. The Rockets scored three times in the bottom of the sixth to break a three to three tie. Sipes took the loss for McConnellsburg. The Spartans were scheduled to play Southern Fulton Monday but that game was postponed until May 7.

Brycen Hohman threw a complete game, struck out seven, and allowed no walks on his way to a win as Forbes Road (2-2, 2-2 SHL, 2-2 ICC) downed Southern Fulton (3- 1, 3-1 SHL, 3-1 ICC) at home 3 to 2. Gabe Stotler threw a solid four innings, allowing one unearned run and walking one while striking out 10 in the loss. Both teams had four hits, with Logan Deshong going one for three with two RBIs for the Cardinals, and Mitchell Potter going one for three with two RBIs for the Indians.

Forbes Road (1-1, 1-1 SHL, 1-1 ICC) and Tussey Mountain managed only two hits apiece. Forbes Road pitchers struck out 13 Titan batters but walked seven and hit two more. The Cardinals could not capitalize on eight walks. Grayson Hall suffered the away game loss for Forbes Road.

Gabriel Stotler pitched four innings with eight strikeouts to lead Southern Fulton (3-0, 3-0 SHL, 3-0 ICC) in a six-inning win over Northern Bedford in the opener of a doubleheader sweep played at home last Monday.

The Indians scored five runs in the third inning of the opener to pull away. Cooper Grove had three hits and five RBIs, Mitchell Potter had two hits and three RBIs, Colton Souders had three RBIs, and Grove pitched two innings of relief with four strikeouts.

In the second game, Branden Lynch and Potter had two RBIs each, Dylan Melton had three hits, Stotler had two hits, Lynch pitched four innings with six strikeouts, and Potter pitched three innings with eight strikeouts for Southern Fulton.

McConnellsburg (1-2, 1-2 SHL, 1-2 ICC) traveled to Southern Huntingdon and dropped a league game to the Rockets 15 to 3. Spartan pitcher Jacob Miller got the loss.

McConnellsburg 3 Tussey Mountain 2

Pitcher Weston Brunner got the win and had two hits and an RBI in the Spartans’ 3-2 win at home April 6 over league rival Tussey Mountain.

Southern Fulton (3-3, 3-2 SHL, 3-2 ICC) dropped a league game 27-7 to visiting Southern Huntingdon on Saturday 27-7.

Kylie Golden threw a complete game striking out eight in Southern Fulton’s (3-2, 3- 1 SHL, 3-1 ICC) 17-3 league win last Friday over Forbes Road (0-2, 0-2 SHL, 0-2 ICC). The Lady Indians broke open a 2-2 tie game in the sixth inning and never looked back. The Lady Indians were led by Jessie Covalt with three hits, Kylie Golden and Cheyenne Miller added two. Courtney Schoen, Payton Watkins, and Maddie Miller collected hits for the Lady Cardinals.

Fannett-Metal (2-1, 2-1 SHL, 2-1 ICC) scored early and often against Mc- Connellsburg (0-3, 0-3 SHL, 0-3 ICC) to pick up the 18 to 5 victory on the Spartans’ home field. The Lady Tigers first six batters reached base in the top of the first propelling them to a 5-to-0 lead. McConnellsburg scored twice in the bottom of the inning and both teams plated one run in the second to make it 6 to 3 entering the third. In the third inning, Fannett Metal scored 10 runs to break the game open. The Lady Spartans had 7 hits. Matty Ross went 2 for 2.

The Forbes Road (0-1, 0- 1 SHL, 0-1 ICC) softball team was finally able to play their first game of the season, but fell to league rival Northern Bedford in a five-inning away game 16-2. Payton Kendall had two hits and an RBI. Harlie Strait struck out three and got the loss. Mara Broadwater, Payton Watkins and Hannah Skiles each had a hit.

Southern Fulton (2-2, 2-1 SHL, 2-1 ICC) swept a doubleheader from visiting Northern Bedford, winning 6 to 2 in the first game and 12 to 10 in the second. The wins even the Lady Indians’ record for the season. SF pitcher Kylie Golden was credited for both wins.

McConnellsburg (0-2, 0-2 SHL, 0-2 ICC) traveled to Southern Huntingdon and fell to the Lady Rockets by a score of 7 to 5. Madison Koontz led the Lady Spartans at the plate going 3 for 3 while Sami Hensley and Matty Ross each had 2 RBIs.
