Motorcycle Crash

Two motorcycles crashed on Route 30 on April 14 at 1:51 p.m. when both failed to negotiate a left-hand turn. According to state police, Zachary Hardy, 25, Hagerstown, and Robert Smith, 33, Hagerstown, were cresting the hill at the Tower Ridge Inn when they continued straight instead of turning left. Both drivers made impact with the guardrail and were ejected from their motorcycles. Both sustained minor injuries and were transported first to Fulton County Medical Center then to Conemaugh Memorial in Johnstown.


A harassment occurred at the 100 block of Crystal Drive on April 12 at approximately 8 p.m.. According to state police, Antoinette Lowery, 48, McConnellsburg, is accused of threatening to strike a 45-year-old female, also from McConnellsburg.

Car Crash

A crash occurred at 9515 Great Cove Road on March 11 at 5:31 p.m. when a driver under the influence lost control of their vehicle. According to state police, Tonda Dere, 32, Warfordsburg, was traveling south on 522 with a 13-year-old female when she failed to maintain a safe lane of travel and left the roadway from the east side. Her 2007 Cadillac CTS struck an embankments and came to an uncontrolled rest. The vehicle sustained disabling damage as a result of the crash. Dere sustained no injuries but the minor sustained suspected minor injuries. Dere was taken to the Fulton County Medical Center for a blood draw. Charges were filed at District 39-4-03.

Domestic Violence

A Warfordsburg man was arrested at Bard’s along Great Cove Road on April 11 at 2:30 p.m.. According to state police, Lynn Alan Bradford, 47, was involved in an argument with a 41- year-old female, also from Warfordsburg, when the argument turned physical. Bradford bit and scratched the female and threatened her with a pocket knife. Bradford was charged with simple assault and harassment and was arraigned before Judge Wendy Mellott. Bail was set at $15,000, and the defendant was committed to Bedford County Jail.

Car Crash

A crash occurred on Sipes Mill Road on April 11 at 1:17 a.m. when a driver lost control of his car for unknown reasons. According to state police, Andrew Mowen, 26, McConnellsburg, was traveling south on Sipes Mill Road just south of Forrestdale Road. Mowen lost control of his 2007 Subaru Impreza and traveled into the opposite lane. Mowen then over-corrected and skidded sideways. The Impreza came to an uncontrolled rest on the west side of Sipes Mill Road in a field facing west.

Car Crash

A crash occurred on Great Cove Road approximately 950 feet south of Lincoln Highway when a car failed to slow down for a crash ahead of him. According to state police, Ralph Bogel, 68, Saxton, was slowing down due to a crash ahead of him when a driver behind him failed to follow suit. Bogel’s 2014 Chevrolet Cruze was rear-ended by George Mitchell, 64, Three Springs, driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. Bogel had two other passengers with them. Mitchell was not wearing his seat belt and was cited with traffic violations. Both vehicles sustained damages from the crash.

Car Crash

A crash occurred on Old 126 Road in Union Township on April 10 at 2:30 p.m.. According to state police, Linda Sollenberger, 62, Warfordsburg, was traveling north on Old 126 Road when she drove her 2014 Hyundai Elantra out of the northbound lane and struck a guide rail. Sollenberger suffered no injuries. Assisting on the scene was Eichelberger’s Towing.

DUI/Resisting Arrest

State police conducted a traffic stop on the 100 block of North Fifth Street on April 14 at 2:02 a.m. According to the police, Wyatt Chilcote, 21, McConnellsburg, was found to be under the influence and taken to Fulton County Medical Center for a blood draw. While being taken into custody Chilcote became combative and resisted arrest.
