An underage male ran away from home on March 27. According to state police, a 14-year-old male from McConnellsburg ran away from a residence on the 23300 block of Great Cove Road at 4:30 p.m. The juvenile has since been found.

Theft Of Service

An illegal dumping occurred at Cloverleaf Court on April 6. According to state police, Dwayne McNear, 27, McConellsburg, placed several bags of garbage in a dumpster at the above location at midnight. As a result, the accused has been cited for theft of services.

Retail Theft

A retail theft occurred April 6 at MacDonald’s Pharmacy, 214 Peach Orchard Rd. According to state police, 50-year-old Gina Waite, 50, of McConnellsburg, took a purse valued at $46.99 at 11:30 a.m. Through investigation, it was determined that the defendant took the purse out of the store with intent to deprive MacDonald’s Pharmacy of merchandise. As a result charges have been filed in the defendant’s name for retail theft through District Court 39-4-02.

Drug Possession

A local man was found last Thursday in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. According to state police, Timothy Davis Jr., 30, McConnellsburg, was found in possession at 621 Lincoln Way East on April 6 at 12:45 p.m.

Weapon On School Property

A juvenile was found with a weapon at McConnellsburg High School. According to state police, a 17-yearold male from Big Cove Tannery was found on April 5 at 2 p.m. with a weapon on school grounds.

Car Crash

A crash occurred near Great Cove Road and Mc- Govern’s Lane on April 6. According to state police, John Moody, 40, McConnellsburg, was travelling north on Great Cove Road at 5:10 a.m. in a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt when he crashed into a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta. The Jetta had its hazard lights flashing due to just being involved in a crash moments before. Moody was under the influence at the time.

Car Crash

A crash occurred on Warm Spring Road in Franklin County March 26 involving a local woman.

According to state police, Courtney Beasely, 18, Mc- Connellsburg, was travelling west on Tallow Hill Road at 5:54 a.m. when she failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Tallow Hill Road and Warm Spring Road. Beasley’s 2002 Volkswagen Passat struck the right rear quarter panel of a 2014 Honda Accord driven by Colby Lehman, 26, Chambersburg. Beasley’s Passat continued forward until it struck another road sign and came to a stop. Lehman received possible injuries.

Car Crash

A crash occurred on Sipes Mill Road on April 2 at 9:30 p.m. According to state police, Joseph Ford, 24, Needmore, was travelling north in a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado while Lance Mellott, 32, Harrisonville, was travelling south on the same road in a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier when both approached the driveway at 11347 Sipes Mill Rd. Ford was driving at an unsafe speed and crossed the double yellow line, crashing into Mellott’s vehicle, which was also carrying a 1 year old minor. Mellott attempted to avoid the pickup but was hit head head on. Mellott was wearing a seat belt and Ford was not. Ford reported a minor head injury. Both parties transported themselves to Fulton County Medical Center.

Transaction Of Sexually Explicit Images by Minors

A transaction of sexually explicit pictures between minors has been reported. According to state police, a 14- year-old female sent a sexually explicit image to a 15- year-old male on March 11 at 3 a.m. That male then sent the image to another juvenile.

Access-Device Fraud

An access-device fraud occurred at 2604 Back Run Rd. According to state police, an unknown person stole bank information from an 18-year-old female from McConnellsburg to make unauthorized transactions on March 26 and 29. This investigation is ongoing.


A theft occurred at the McConnellsburg Sheetz on April 2 at 12:30 a.m. According to state police, Tiffany Edmonds, 34, McConnellsburg, took items with a total value of $8.96 from the gas station. Charges were filed through 39-4-02’s district magistrate office.


A theft occurred at 123 Sinoquipe Road. According to state police, an unknown actor entered the property within a two-week time frame around April 4 at about noon and removed a Craftsman tool set and a Troy-bilt push mower from a 29-year-old male’s property. The thief then fled in an unknown direction by unknown means.


A burglary took place at 3377 Great Cove Rd., Warfordsburg, leaving a damaged car in the process. According to state police, an unknown actor entered the building of Jeffrey Mellott, 50, Warfordsburg, sometime March 31 or April 1. The burglar entered the building through unknown means and damaged a car that was parked at the residence. Fishing poles and recurve bows were stolen.
