2 Local Men Injured, 1 Killed In Waynesboro Crash


Beau Wilson, 22, Big Cove Tannery, and Harold Metz, 56, McConnellsburg, were driving north on the 1000 block of Wayne Highway in Quincy Township on Thursday, March 8, when a 2004 Ford Ranger crossed over into their lane and struck their 2004 GMC Savana head-on, according to state police.

Wilson was flown to York Hospital for treatment for what were considered serious injuries. Metz was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was released later that day.

The owner of the Ford Ranger, Donal E. Sheffler, 77, Waynesboro, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at 1:39 p.m., according to a state police news release. All three men were wearing a lap and shoulder seat belt, state police said.

Drug Paraphernalia

On March 7 at 2:30 p.m. seven hypodermic needles were found in McConnellsburg. According to state police, they were discovered on the 300 Block of Lions Park Drive.

Transmission Of Sexually Explicit Images by Minor

State police in McConnellsburg are investigating the transmission of sexually explicit images by a minor. According to police, the incident occurred at 159 Red Bird Dr. in Waterfall and potentially took place between Dec. 31, 2017, and Jan. 30, 2018. The victim is a 12-yearold Fort Littleton female.

Act 64

On March 6 at 10:49 a.m., a state police officer found Alanna Fletcher in possession of marijuana. According to police, Fletcher was found with the substance at 8328 Great Cove Rd.

Credit Card Theft

A theft occurred on March 9 at 9:30 a.m. when an someone gained access to another person’s credit card information. According to state police, James Hedges, 80, found that unauthorized purchases had been made on his credit card account.

Single-vehicle Crash

A single- car crash occurred on Timber Ridge Road on March 11 around midnight. According to state police, Dalton Eader, 21, Big Cove Tannery, was traveling south over the speed limit and lost control of his 2007 Pontiac G6. The car traveled across the northbound lane and into a yard on the east side of Timber Ridge Road. The driver then struck a mailbox and a utility pole and skidded out of control. Eader fled the scene, police reported.


A theft occurred at a residence on Waterfall Road in Fulton County between Feb. 3 and March 3. According to state police, an unknown person stole an Apple watch valued at approximately $150 from the 46-year-old female resident.
