Sunrise Services Calvary Independent Baptist Church, 140 McGoverns Lane, McConnellsburg, will hold Easter sunrise services Sunday, April 1, at 7 a.m. More information at 717-485-4745.

Easter Services Needmore Bible Church will hold Good Friday services March 30, at 7 p.m. Come watch the “Cross Builder.” Easter sunrise services will be held April 1, at 7 a.m., followed by a fellowship breakfast. Sunday School/Life Groups will be held at 9 a.m. and worship services at 10 a.m. which will feature a cantata.

RECREATION

Easter Bunny Trolley The Easter Bunny Trolley will be at Rockhill Trolley Museum, Rockkhill Furnace, Saturday, March 24. Ride a trolley car to visit the Easter Bunny. Each child receives a gift from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Cost is $8.

Senior Center Activities Broad Top Senior Center will hold a trivia party Friday, March 16, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, at 10 a.m., Jr. Copper will entertain with music. The Country Blend Band will be at the center Saturday, March 27. Doors open at 5 p.m.; kitchen opens at 5 p.m. and music from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Donation is $3.

Gun Bash Hancock Fire Co. will hold a spring gun bash Saturday, May 19, at the firehall. Cost is $20 per ticket. Gates open at 11 a.m. Buffet served at 11:30 a.m. to ticketholders. Only 500 tickets sold. Tickets available from any fireman or contact 301-678-7739.

Fatherhood Open Fulton County Fatherhood Initiative will hold a Fatherhood Open at Fulton County Library April 13, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Please RSVP by April 6 at 717-485- 6767, Ext. 222.

Easter Egg Hunt Forbes Road Lions Club will hold an Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 31, at the Lions Park, weather permitting. In case of inclement weather or muddy grounds, the event will take place in the Forbes Road High School gym. Candy and special prizes for toddlers thru age 12. Raffle tickets are now on sale to support the hunt and other Lions Club projects.

Bike Ride Team No One Fights Alone will hold a bike ride Saturday, June 9, at Harpers Memorial Park, Shade Gap. Registration is from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and kick stands up at noon. Food will be provided after the ride. Cost is $20 per bike and $10 for passenger. Cars are welcome to participate at $20 per car. Post 518 will hold a dance with “SOS” from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Madden Winnick Post 518, Orbisonia. If not riding but want to attend and enjoy the entertainment at the post after the ride, a donation of $10 is appreciated. Casino Trip Warfordsburg Senior Center is offering a trip to Hollywood Casino in Grantville, Pa., on April 11. Cost of the trip is $35. Casino is giving $35 playing voucher and a $5 food voucher. 250 Club Drawing A 250 club drawing will be held March 17 at the American Legion. Sponsored by Fulton Honor Guard and Post 561 SAL. For tickets see an honor guard or SAL member or stop at the post or VFW post. Cost is $20 for two people.

Sports Hall of Fame Banquet McConnellsburg Alumni and Friends Association will honor the third class of Fulton County All-Sports Hall of Fame April 6, 2018. Members to be inducted will be Don Fowler, Ralph Fraker, C. Owen Fries, John Glazier, Herb Hardin, Fran Mellott, Carole Palmer and Larry Palmer.

Preschool Registration Fulton County Vocational School is now accepting applications for preschool. Preschool will be held at McConnellsburg Elementary School, 151 East Cherry Street, March 13 to May 17 for children ages 3-5 who are also potty trained, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (parents choose one day a week their children will attend). SF Registration Southern Fulton School District will hold pre-kindergarten registration Wednesday, March 21, and Thursday, March 22, for children who will be 3 or 4 years old before August 1, 2018. Kindergarten registration will be held March 21 and March 22 for children who will be 5 years old before August 1, 2018. To register for either class call 717-294- 3400 to schedule an appointment.

Community Food Giveaway A community food giveaway will be held Saturday, March 17, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. or while supplies last, at Rehoboth New Life Church, 8159 Great Cove Road, Needmore (formerly Fulton County Community Christian School). All are welcome with no eligibility guidelines.

GSR Sponsorship The 2018 sponsorship program managed by the Grease Steam and Rust Association to fund the 2018 Fulton Fall Folk Festival October 19-21 and parade on October 20 is now open. GSR is asking for financial support to keep this event operating. 55-Alive Smart Driving Classes Warfordsburg Senior Center will offer classes for the 55-Alive/Smart Driving Dscount Program, March 14 and 15. The class is from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. For those who have never taken the class, then two days of classes are required. To renew a discount the first day is needed. Preregister either in person or by calling the center. Checks are made payable to AARP for $20 (per person non-member) or $15 (per person AARP member). The center is located at 209 Long Hollow Road, Warfordsburg. Anyone planning on having lunch, make reservations for lunch when registering. Classes are designed to help improve driving skills. Rabies Clinic Better Days Animal League Thrift Store, Fort Loudon, across from Milky Way Restaurant, will hold a rabies, distemper and microchip clinic March 24 and June 2 from 10 a.m. top 12:30 p.m. Cost is cash only. FR Registration Forbes Road School District will hold Redbird (K-4) and kindergarten (K-5) registration for the 2018-2019 school year Monday, April 9, and Tuesday, April 10. Children who will be age 4 on or before the first day of school are eligible for the Redbird (K-4) program and children who will be 5 on or before September 1, 2018, are eligible for the kindergarten (K-5) program. Pruning Seminar Penn State Extension Master Gardener will hold “Pruning With the Buchanan Bureau of Forestry” Saturday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Community State Bank community room in McConnellsburg. Cost is $10 per person and money must accompany reservations. To reserve a seat call 717-325-4871. The training will teach the group in types of equipment and proper techniques for trimming trees and shrubs. Program presented by David Scamardella and Cody Crouse.

Narcotics Anonymous Meets two times per week in Mc- Connellsburg. NA is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. Members share their successes and challenges in overcoming active addiction and living drug-free, productive lives through the application of the principles contained within the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of NA (patterned after Alcoholics Anonymous.) Anyone is welcome no matter what is used or how big the desire to stop using is. Sundays at 7 p.m. in Fulton County Medical Center Wellness Center, 294 Lincoln Way West (old Dollar General); Thursdays at 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 228 North Second Sdtreet, McConnellsburg (down the outside stairs). MHS Class Of 1968 Reunion McConnellsburg High School Class of 1968 will hold its 50th class reunion Saturday, June 23, at the Orchards Restaurant in Chambersbur. Mark calendars. Details will follow.

MHS Class OF 1978 Reunion Meeting McConnellsburg High School Class of 1978 will hold a reunion planning meeting Monday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m., at Lincoln Way Pizza.

Chicken BBQ Needmore Fire Co. will hold a chicken barbecue Sunday, March 18, at 11 a.m.

Spaghetti Dinner Breezewood Fire Co. will hold a benefit spaghetti dinner and basket raffle Sunday, March 25, at 11 a.m. Proceeds benefit member Jim Swope. Dinner will include spaghetti with meatballs, salad, garlic bread or dinner roll, dessert and beverage. Cost is $8 for adults; children 6-12 $5 and under 6 eat free. Spaghetti Dinner A spaghetti dinner will be held Saturday, March 17, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, 14253 Exline Road, Hancock. Donations accepted.

Free Meal A free meal will be served the second Tuesday of each month at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 220 North Third Street. Please join in for good fellowship.

Pancake Supper Bedford Chapel Church on Rt. 643, 4570 Flickerville Rd., Warfordsburg, will hold an all-you-can-eat pancake supper Saturday, March 17, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Menu includes pancakes, buckwheat cakes, sausage, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, coffee and juice. Everyone welcome.

Soup Night Soup night will be held every Wednesday until March 21, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at McConnellsburg United Presbyterian Church. In the event Central Fulton School District is closed or has an early dismissal soup night will be cancelled. Check out on www.mupc.org.

Scouting Breakfast The seventh annual Friends of Scouting breakfast will be held Friday, March 23, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., at McConnellsburg VFW Post 655. Speaker will be Chad Herrold. Steak/Chicken Dinner A steak and chicken dinner will be held Saturday, March 31, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Pleasant Union Church, 259 Pleasant Union Church Road, Clearville. Served will be cubed steak, pulled pork, chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, applesauce, roll, soft-freeze ice cream and cake. Donations only. Takeouts available. All are welcome.

MEETINGS

Quilt Club Meeting Fulton County Quilt Club will meet Saturday, March 17, at 9 a.m., in the community room of Fulton County Library on North First Street, McConnellsburg. Microwave bowl cozies will e made. Make two and donate on to Fulton County Medical Center Gift Shop. Bring sewing machine, sewing kit and four 10-inch squares of coordinating fabric. Batting will be furnished. All are welcome.

Cemetery Assoc. Meeting Wells Valley Presbyterian Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting March 19, at 7 p.m., at the home of Ronnie Eichelberger.

Sportsmen’s League Meeting Fulton County Sportsmen’s League will meet at 7 p.m., in the stone house at the trout nursery March 16. Details for the annual trout stocking and fundraiser on the first day of trout season April 14, will be discussed. Plans for the children’s fish rodeo and open house will also be discussed. Help is needed for assistance at the annual open house and children’s fishing rodeo. People are needed to assist with setup, food preparation and cooking. Anyone willing to help should attend the March and April meetings. Meetings are held the third Friday of the month at 7 p.m.

Historical Society Dinner/Meeting Fulton County Historical Society will hold its annual membership dinner and meeting at Hustontown Firehall March 31, at 6 p.m. Cooper Wingert will speak about slavery and the Underground Railroad in southcentral Pennsylvania. Tickets are $15 for adults; $7.50 for children ages 4-11; and children under 4 are free. Reservations and payments must be received by March 23. BINGO

PTA Fundraiser Bingo Southern Fulton PTA will hold a fundraiser bingo Sunday, April 22. Doors open at noon and games begin at 2 p.m., at McConnellsburg Firehall. Concessions will be available. Raffles, silent auction, extra games, specials and small games of chance will be available for purchase. Donation is $25 per person for 20 games, with one winner per game. Must have ticket to attend. Prizes include many getaway packages, restaurant gift cards, tickets to sporting events, salon services, golf packages and wineries tours and tastings.
