Racing Roundup

The 2018 Central PA racing season is underway after Lincoln Speedway was able to get a cool, breezy day to present its Icebeaker 30 on Saturday afternoon.

Chad Trout raced to his first career 410 Sprint car win after leading the final 29 laps of the Icebreaker to earn the $4,000 payday.

The outcome of the race was changed on Lap 1 when Lucas Wolfe slowed in Turn 2 collecting favorites Danny Dietrich and Brian Montieth while Greg Hodnett was also caught in the melee, ending up with front end damage.

Trout managed to keep all contenders behind and even pulled away following a late race restart to score the win over Brandon Rahmer, Kyle Moody, Gerard McIntyre and Greg Hodnett with Freddie Rahmer, Jim Siegel, Alan Krimes, Tim Glatfelter and Glenndon Forsythe.

Lincoln will return to action this Saturday with another 410 Sprints-only race at 2pm.

Port Royal Speedway will open this Saturday night at 5 p.m., with 410 Sprints and Late Models that will include the debut of Harrisonville’s Logan Wagner as the new driver of the Zemco Sprint car.

Williams Grove Speedway will kick off its season Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. with 410 Sprints.

The World of Outlaws saw action at Las Vegas Dirt Track last week where Sheldon Haudenschild and Donny Schatz were winners. They were also winners in Florida.
