Racing Roundup

The Winternationals have concluded in Florida as the Ronald Laney King of the 360s and World of Outlaws Late Models held events this past weekend.

The WoO Late Models were in action four nights at Volusia Speedway Park where four different winners emerged that included Tim McCreadie, Dale McDowell, Scott Bloomquist and Brandon Sheppard.

McCreadie won opening night over Josh Richards, Chase Junghans, Madden and Jonathon Davenport, while McDowell took the Thursday night win over Sheppard, Davenport, Shane Clanton and Bloomquist.

Bloomquist scored the Friday night win over Maden, McDowell, Mason Zeigler and Sheppard. Sheppard took the finale on Saturday ahead of Madden, Mike Marlar, Rick Eckert and Richards.

York’s Eckert also had finishes of sixth, 11th and seventh to go with his top five in the finale.

Terry McCarl scored the $10,000 payday in his win in the Ronald Laney Memorial for 360 Sprints at East Bay Raceway Park Saturday night. McCarl won over Tim Shaffer, Thomas Kennedy, Pennsylvania’s Mark Smith and Wayne Johnson. Smith and Kennedy were Thursday and Friday night winners. Smith won three times while racing down South this month.

All eyes now turn to Lincoln Speedway’s Icebreaker 30 this Saturday, and it appears the weather might be in favor for the track to see action this weekend. Midweek temps are warm and as long as the rain gets out of the area before the weekend, I’d say all systems are go for Lincoln this weekend. It will be 410 Sprints going after $4,000 to win.
