A Warfordsburg man stands accused of stealing a television and failing to return a cellphone. According to state police, Cory Shaeffer, 21, McConnellsburg, and Melina Mitchell, 19, Mc- Connellsburg, have filed charges against Michael Shrader, 24, McConnellsburg. On Jan. 18 between 3:00 a.m. and 1:10 p.m., Shrader allegedly entered their residence at Woodside Drive and stole the above items. Shaeffer was arrested on a previous warrant and arraigned before District Magisterial Judge Mellott. Bail was set at $15,000.00

Animal Cruelty

An 8-year-old male Catahoula mix was found in poor condition on Jan. 18 in Ayr Township. According to state police, Kenneth Termin, 73, McConnellsburg, failed to provide necessary sustenance, potable water, and a safe, sanitary shelter for the animal.


A traffic stop was conducted at the intersection of S. Fourth Street and E. Maple Street in McConnells January 12 at 9:45 a.m. According to police, they found Chad Souders, 35, McConnellsburg, under the influence.

Domestic Violence

A domestic harassment occurred in Wells Township between 3 p.m. Jan. 19 and 20 noon January 20. According to state police. Richard Maxwell, 52, of 371 West Tannery Road, Wells Tannery, repeatedly committed acts that served no legitimate purpose other than to strike, shove, kick or otherwise subject an unnamed 51-year-old female to harm. Charges are pending.

Domestic Violence

A domestic harassment occurred in McConnellsburg on Jan. 12 between 2:05 p.m. and 4:55 p.m. According to state police, Viola McQuade, 84, McConnellsburg committed acts of harassment to annoy or alarm an unnamed 82-year-old man at 757 Patterson Rd. Charges are pending.

Car Crash

A single-vehicle crash occurred in Needmore on Jan. 30 due to ice and snow. According to state police, Harley Youngblood, 21, Warfordsburg, was traveling north on Old Rte. 126 at 10:14 a.m. when she lost control of her 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt. The vehicle slide on ice, causing her to hit a ditch and some trees. Youngblood was wearing her seat belt, but sustained minimal to moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Meritus Medical Center. Assistance on the scene was by Needmore EMS.


A DUI arrest occurred on Jan. 20 at 2:14 a.m. during a traffic stop. According to state police, James Rother III, 44, McConnellsburg, was pulled over on Woodside Drive and was found showing signs of impairment. He was arrested for DUI.

Car Crash

A single car crash occurred on Lincoln Way East on Feb. 1 at 12:38 p.m. According to state police, Julie McKenrick, 54, McConnellsburg, was traveling east on Lincoln Way in her 2006 Chevrolet HHR when she traveled across her lane of travel and into the opposite lane. She then spun sideways back across her lane of travel and struck the embankment on the south side of LWE, causing the car to overturn on its driver’s side.

Criminal Mischief

A series of criminal mischiefs took place in Harrisonville on Feb. 3 and 4 between the hours of 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. According to state police, several mailboxes were damaged on Mill and Circle roads. Anyone with any information, please call PSP at 717-485-3131.

Car Crash

A crash occurred in Peters Township on Jan. 31, leaving a Fulton County man injured. According to state police, William Hann, 22, Mc- Connellsburg, was traveling east on Lincoln Highway at 3:11 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a right curve with his 2002 Chevy Cavalier. Hann’s Cavalier then traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking an embankment. It then rolled over onto its roof and came to rest in the eastbound lane.

Fugitive From Justice

Richard Allen Martin, 28, McConnellsburg, was found to have an extraditable warrant from Ohio. According to state police, Martin was found at 514 E. Poplar St. in McConnellsburg and was taken into custody.
