250 Club Drawing A 250 club drawing will be held March 17 at the American Legion. Sponsored by Fulton Honor Guard and Post 561 SAL. For tickets see an honor guard or SAL member or stop at the post or VFW post. Cost is $20 for two people.

Free Walking There will be free walking in the alumni community building beginning January 8 every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. If the Central Fulton School District is closed due to the weather the gym will not be open.

Scouts Accepting Members Troop 43, chartered by the United Presbyterian Church of McConnellsburg, is accepting boys age 11-17. Parenting Power Hour A Parenting Power Hour of learning exploring and relaxing together is held every Monday from 11 a.m. to noon at Fulton County Family Partnership, 22438 Great Cove Road (use COPE entrance). Open to any caregiver interested in improving parent/child relationships, selfawareness and communication with children all while interacting with other parents. Ronald McDonald House Charities Fulton County Farm Bureau is doing the annual collection of items for the Ronald McDonald House in Hershey. Collection sites are at Thomas All Things Automotive, McConnellsburg Motor and Implement and Dott Store, plus there are money collection jars scattered throughout the county in many businesses. Items needed are nothing perishible, single-serving meals, snacks, chips, boxed potatoes, tuna, ketchup and all things that may be needed for kitchen cleanup and maintenance. Gift cards are also needed. Checks are most welcome and made payable to Ronald McDonald House, Hershey and mailed to Donna Lynch, 10004 Buck Valley Road, Warfordsburg, PA17267. Donations will be collected Feb. 2 and delivered to Hershey Feb. 7. More information available at 717 294 3414.

GSR Sponorship The 2018 sponsorship program managed by the Grease Steam and Rust Association to fund the 2018 Fulton Fall Folk Festival October 19-21 and parade on October 20, opens January 9. GSR is asking for financial support to keep this event operating. CF Registration Central Fulton School District will hold registration for the 2018-2019 school year Monday, February 26; Tuesday, February 27; and Wednesday, February 28. Children who will be age 4 on or before the first day of school, August 22, 2018, are eligible for K4 program and children who will be age 5 on or before the first day of school are eligible for the K5 kindergarten program. Please note that students who are currently enrolled in the K4 program do not need to re-register for K5. Contact Stacy Morton at 717-485-7072 to schedule an appointment.

Veterans Service Office Winter Hours Instead of Wednesdays, the Fulton County Veterans Service Office will now be open Fridays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This change will be effective beginning December 1, 2017, through March 30, 2018.

Preschool Story Hour Preschool story hour is held weekly through the school year at 10:30 a.m. Hustontown Branch Library hosts on Tuesdays; McConnellsburg library, Wednesdays; and southern Fulton County at Dott Store, Thursdays. FOOD AND DINING

Meals Available Once a month volunteers pack up boxes of food to be given to anyone in need in the Waterfall area. Pickup is at Center United Methodist Church community building on Doran Road, Waterfall. More information may be obtained by calling 814-685-3780. Calls will be kept strictly confidential.

Soup Night Soup night will be held every Wednesday, beginning January 31 until March 21, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Pancake Supper Whips Cove Church, 5044 Moss Road, will hold a pancake supper February 10, at 5 p.m. Menu will consist of buttermilk and old-fashioned buckwheat pancakes, ham, sausage links, puddin and sausage gravy, and fried and scrambled eggs. Coffee, hot chocolate and orange juice will also be available. Donations are accepted and appreciated. For more information call 717-294-3229.

Pancake/Sausage Breakfast A pancake and sausage breakfast will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church January 20, from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Plain, blueberry and buckwheat pancakes, sausage, puddin, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee will be served. Donations are gratefully accepted.

Spaghetti Dinner A spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held January 27, at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church Faith Center from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Eat-in or takeouts by donation.

Free Lunch Lunch will be served every first Friday of each month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at McConnellsburg United Methodist Faith and Life Center, across from the courthouse. Parking available behind the church. Soup, sandwiches, salad bar, potato bar and dessert bar is served. Dine-in or carryouts with donations accepted.

Free Meal A free meal will be served the second Tuesday of each month at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 220 North Third Street. Please join in for good fellowship.

HEALTH

NAR-ANON Discontinued NAR-ANON family group has discontinued due to lack of interest. There continues to be a meeting in Greencastle.

Autism Support Group Autism support group meets the last Tuesday of the month quarterly at 6 p.m. Call Lauren Everetts 717-485-6107 for details.

Alzheimer’s Support Group Do you have questions about caring for a loved one with dementia or Alzheimer’s? Visit the support group the third Tuesday of each month, at 6 p.m., at Fulton County Medical Center in the Pearl Room. Light supper is provided. Meetings are free. There is a speaker each month focusing on different subjects dealing with this illness. As we travel this journey together there is help here, with daily, weekly and monthly challenges for all stages.

Nutrition Class Fulton County nutrition awareness classes are held at Warfordsburg Senior Center on the third Monday of every month from 10:30 a.m. to noon. When the third Monday is a holiday, the class is held the fourth Monday. To register or sign up for lunch call 717-294-6020.

Narcotics Anonymous Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meets two times per week in McConnellsburg. NA is a 12-step fellowship whose primary focus is “that no addict need die from the disease of addiction.” Members share their successes and challenges in overcoming addictive addiction by learning how to live drug-free lives through applying the principles contained within the twelve steps and traditions of NA. Anyone is welcome no matter what drug/drink was used, how much or little you have or how big or small desire is to change. There are members with long-term recovery to help. Meetings are Sunday and Thursday at 7 p.m. at Fulton County Medical Center (enter through the south entrance and take elevator to the second floor) in the Pearl Room. Saturday night is closed. MEETINGS

Cemetery Assoc. Meeting Whips Cove Cemetery Assoc. will meet February 1, at 7:30 p.m., at Whips Cove Church fellowship hall.

Sportsmen’s League Meeting Fulton County Sportsmen’s League will meet at 7 p.m. in the stone house at the trout nursery January 19. New officers and board members were elected during the December meeting and will take their office and positions at this meeting. Board members only will meet one hour prior to the general meeting at 6 p.m.

Quilt Club Meeting Fulton County Quilt Club will meet Saturday, January 20, in the community room of Fulton County Library on North First Street at 10 a.m. Following the business meeting the block of the month which will be the pinwell will be made. This 12-inch block will be made using only 2 1/2-inch strips. Subcut background fabric into four 6 1/2-inch rectangles, four 4 1/2-inch rectangles and eight 2 1/2-inch squares. Subcut various prints into four 6 1/2-inch rectangles and four 4 1/2-inch rectangles. Anyone interesting in quilting is welcome to attend.

RELIGION

Guest Speaker Pastor Harold Yeager, St. Thomas, will be preaching at Knobsville Church of the Brethren January 21, for the 10:30 a.m. worship service. For more information call 717-987-3935.

Winter Retreat A winter retreat will be held at Camp Tohiglo, 10670 Fort Loudon Road, Mercersburg, February 9-10, sponsored by the Fellowship of Bible Churches. Speakers will be Rev.
