Beta Sigma Phi News

The sisters of Xi Eta Lambda, McConnellsburg chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, were quite active over the past three months.

In October, the sisters gave money to Fulton County Treasures for Kids project. In November, they bought groceries for the adopted grandmother prior to Thanksgiving. The sisters ushered at McConnellsburg elementary and middle schools’ musical. They met after Thanksgiving to make 65 dozen cookies for the Festival of Lights, and lit the luminaries for the event the first two Friday and Saturday nights in December.

Also in December, the sisters stuffed stockings for Fulton County Treasures for Kids project. They donated gifts for 15 residents in the long-term-care unit at Fulton County Medical Center. A Christmas dinner was held at the home of Susie Schmidt where gifts were exchanged among the sisters. The sorority each brought a gift to give to the adopted grandmother to brighten her holiday. Although a cultural and social sorority, the chapter continues to contribute to needed service projects in Fulton County.
