Are Giant Gas Points Worth It?

To The Editor:

Since Giant opened its gas station over a decade ago many of us have gone there to buy our groceries and gas. With their bonus points incentive, we’ve all been encouraged to shop there in hopes of getting cheaper gas once a month. For every $100 spent we are to get 10 cents off per gallon.

However, over the past few years some of us have noticed that toward the end of the month, when we’re all ready to use up our gas points, the price of gas jumps up anywhere from 6-10 cents per gallon. Once the first of the month passes, the price drops down again. It makes you wonder how much are we actually saving?
