William H. McCumbee Jr.

William Hollis “Jumbo” McCumbee Jr., 68, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Friday, November 3, 2017, at The Extended Care Facility of War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.

Born September 12, 1949, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, he was the son of the late William Hollis Mc- Cumbee Sr. and the late Edith Virginia Mencer Mc- Cumbee Fitch.

He was a member of Berkeley Springs Church of Christ. He was a 1967 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School and first worked at Vanguard Products on the assembly line. He then worked as a fuel truck delivery person with Pargas, Newbraugh’s Supply and Roach Oil. Prior to his retirement, he worked in auto sales with Mill Creek Motors in Bunker Hill, W.Va. He was a member of the Owls Club in Hagerstown, Md. He enjoyed fishing, word search puzzles and watching wrestling and NASCAR racing.

Surviving are his wife, Dolly Ann Eader McCumbee, at home; his children: Crystal Ann Goodrich, Greencastle; William Hollis McCumbee III, Hancock; Kenneth John McCumbee, Dagsboro, Del.; Stacy Elizabeth Caldwell, Berkeley Springs, and Holly Lynn Mc- Cumbee, Warfordsburg; two sisters: Candace Mencer Mc- Peak and Candace Suella McCumbee, both of Winchester, Va.; one brother, Lenue Randall McCumbee, Berkeley Springs; 17 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Christine Faye McCumbee; and one grandson, Nathan Joseph Mc- Cumbee.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 7, at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs. Pastor Steve Dawson officiated. Private interment was in Greenway Cemetery.
