Charged With DUI

DUI charges were filed against Logan Marlin Barnhart, 23, Needmore, after state police found him driving under the influence during a traffic stop along the 3000 block of the Lincoln Highway Sept. 9 at 1:25 a.m. Police reported the stop took place in Brush Creek Township and that Barnhart was taken to Fulton County Medical Center for a blood draw.

Needmore Man Faces Multiple Charges

Cody Howard Hege, 20, Harrisonville, has been lodged in Bedford County Jail for an incident at the Todd Township residence of a 20-year-old female and a 19-year-old male on Sept. 12. State police reported that Hege showed up at 61 Hillsides Estates at 1:43 p.m. intending to fight with the male victim after telling him so through social media. After banging on a door, a window and putting a hole in the siding, he entered the home through an unlocked door, punched the female victim several times, choked her and stomped on her neck several times. Hege then began punching the male victim, who punched back in self-defense, police said. After fighting for several minutes, Hege left the home and was later arrested and charged with burglary, strangulation, simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief. He was jailed on $50,000 bail.

Thompson Twp. Burglary

State police are asking for the public’s help with a Thompson Township burglary that occurred between Aug. 23 and Sept. 16. Someone entered a Gem Bridge Road residence and garage by prying open their doors and removed the following items from the garage: 2 Homelite XL chain saws (1 blue and 1 red), 1 McCullough yellow chain saw and a Lincoln Weld-Pak welder. Police said the victim is a 67- year-old Needmore man. Anyone with information should contact the state police at 717-485-3131.

Charged With Public Drunkenness

Daniel James Shields II, 30, McConnellsburg, was charged with the summary offense of public drunkenness when he was found walking on Route 16 near Horton Drive at 8:35 p.m. Sept. 15, swaying and stumbling around in traffic. State police reported that Shields was highly intoxicated at the time.


State police reported that they found Joshua Louis Mc- Closkey, 30, McConnellsburg, operating a vehicle while under the influence along the 20000 block of Great Cove Road in Ayr Township Sept. 8 at 8:33 p.m.


Donald Raymond Truax, 73, McConnellsburg, has been accused by state police of committing harassment in Ayr Township on Sept. 10. Police said Truax did “with intent harass, annoy or alarm” a 78-year-old Mc- Connellsburg woman when he followed her “in or about in public.” Police reported the location of the harassment as Great Cove Road to Crossroads Road to Cito Road to Fulton Drive. They reported the time of the harassment as 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Shoots BBs At Stop Sign

A 16-year-old juvenile was charged for shooting an air-powered BB pistol from a vehicle at a stop sign located at the intersection of Long View Drive and Rock Hill Road in Ayr Township. State police said the incident took place Sept. 16 at 5:30 p.m.

Two Charged With Harassment

Harassment charges have been filed against Janice Sue Bingaman, 52, Mercersburg, and a 16-year-old Mercersburg female for a physical altercation they engaged in Sept. 17 at 12:05 p.m. State police reported the incident’s location as 4000 Timber Ridge Rd., Thompson Township.

Single-vehicle Accident

Driver Dylan A. Ensor, 18, Warfordsburg, wasn’t injured when he fell asleep at the wheel of his car Sept. 16 and hit an embankment along Great Cove Road in Belfast Township. State police said Ensor was southbound in a 2010 Toyota Corolla at 5 a.m. when he fell asleep, crossed over the opposite lane of travel and struck an embankment on the east side of the road. He charged with a traffic violation.

Harassment Charge

State police reported that a summary harassment charge was filed against James Junkins Jr., 26, Mc- Connellslburg, for striking a 21-year-old McConnellsburg female at 5:50 a.m. Sept. 18 during an argument at 3 Geralds Circle.
