Hixon Bible Camp Fall Festival Hixon Bible Camp Inc. will hold its third annual fall festival Friday, September 22, and Saturday, September 23, at 3472 McKees Gap Road, Warfodsburg. Festival starts at 8 a.m. both days. Live music, bake sale and food, vendors and yard sales, making and selling of apple butter, tractor shows and hayrides.

Competition Shoot Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will hold a 3D archery range competition shoot Saturday, September 23. Hunting bows only; no competition bows. Registration at 10 a.m. Shootoff starts at 10:30 a.m. Two-person teams. Cost is $30 per team. Cash payout will be offered for first-place team. Must have seven teams or more to be able to pay a second-place team. Price of payout depends on number of teams entered. Three door prizes available to competition shooters only.

Fill The Bus Food Drive Come help “fill the bus” to benefit the Fulton County Food Basket. In honor of the 35th anniversary a food drive will be held to benefit the needs of those in the community. Meat Shoot The Interfaith Service Coalition of Hancock is proud to announce the first annual meat shoot competition, Saturday, September 30, at Hancock Fire and Rescue picnic grounds, at 10 a.m. The shoot will be a fundraiser to assist individuals and families in times of need. First place is a hog with runner-up prizes of steaks, hamburger, sausage and poultry. No barrels longer than 36 inches, including the sleeve, will be allowed. Concession stand will be available. Preschool Story Hour Preschool story hour is held weekly through the school year at 10:30 a.m. Hustontown Branch Library hosts on Tuesdays; McConnellsburg library, Wednesdays; and southern Fulton County at Dott Store, Thursdays. Family Fall Fest A free, fun Family Fall Fest will be held Sunday, October 1, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Widmeyer Park in Hancock. Hayrides, face painting, scarecrow making, games, pumpkin decorating, photo booth and lots of fun. A community event hosted by Hancock United Methodist Church.

SF Musical Southern Fulton High School will present Disney’s “Mulan Jr.” Friday, October 6, and Saturday, October 7. Both performances will take place at 7 p.m.,, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for students. Children 2 and under (held on lap) are free.

X Card Shoots X card shoots will be held at Fulton County Pistol and Rifle Club every Friday thru November 17. Kitchen opens at 5:30 p.m. and shoot starts at 7 p.m. All are welcome.

Barn Quilt Tours Fulton County Barn Quilt Committee will sponsor tours of barn quilts in the county during Fulton Fall Folk Festival on Friday, October 20. The northern route will leave at 8:30 a.m. from Giant parking lot. The southern route will leave from Giant at 1 p.m. Cost is $20 for one or $35 for those who want to do both tours. Chicken BBQ Needmore Fire Co. will hold its last chicken barbecue of the year Sunday, October 15. Democratic Banquet The Fulton County Democratic banquet will be held Saturday, October 14, at 6:30 p.m., at Mc- Connellsburg Firehall. Tickets available at the door.

Autumn Tea Fulton County Historical Society will hold an autumn tea Saturday, September 30, at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $4.50 for children under 12. The tea will be in the banquet room of the former G.C. Murphy building. Entry is at the rear of the building. Meals Available Once a month volunteers pack up boxes of food to be given to anyone in need in the Waterfall area. Pickup is at Center United Methodist Church community building on Doran Road, Waterfall. More information may be obtained by calling 814-685-3780. Calls will be kept strictly confidential.

Free Meal A free meal will be served the second Tuesday of each month at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 220 North Third Street. Please join in for good fellowship.


Exercise Classes The following classes are available at the alumni community building: Yoga – Tuesdays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Zumba – Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Tai Chi – Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Pilates – Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Also come to the gym Monday, Wednesday and Friday and walk inside, out of the weather, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. free. Alzheimer’s Support Group Do you have questions about caring for a loved one with dementia or Alzheimer’s? Visit the support group the third Tuesday of each month, at 6 p.m., at Fulton County Medical Center in the Pearl Room. Light supper is provided. Meetings are free. There is a speaker each month focusing on different subjects dealing with this illness. As we travel this journey together there is help here, with daily, weekly and monthly challenges for all stages.

Health Screening A health screening will be held September 23 at McConnellsburg VFW, from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Cost is $60. Optional tests are PSA $25 and Vitamin D $35. A screening consists of blood tests and a self-scoring health lifestyle-evaulation. Blood test results will be mailed. To preregister call 1-800-776-6342 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Nutrition Class Fulton County nutrition awareness classes are held at Warfordsburg Senior Center on the third Monday of every month from 10:30 a.m. to noon. When the third Monday is a holiday, the class is held the fourth Monday. To register or sign up for lunch call 717-294-6020.

NAR-ANON Meeting The Nar-Anon Family Group is primarily for those who know or have known a feeling of desperation concerning the addiction problem of someone very near to you. We have travelled that unhappy road too, and found the answer with serenity and peace of mind. When you come into the family group you are no longer alone, but among true friends who understand your problem as few others could. Meetings have been moved from Thursday at 7 p.m. to Saturday at 7 p.m., at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 228 North Second Street, McConnellsburg. Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held every Monday morning at 11 a.m. (even holidays) in the Pearl Room, second floor of Fulton County Medical Center, and every Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the basement of Mc- Connellsburg Alumni Building, located at 301 East Maple Street. Both are open meetings that anyone can attend.

Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Wednesday and Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Fulton County Medical Center cardiopulmonary rehab gym. The cost is based on insurance. Call 717-485-6149 to see if insurance provider is accepted. Community Wellness is $40/month/person or $70/month/couple.

Narcotics Anonymous Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meets three times per week in McConnellsburg. NA is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. Membership is open to all drug addicts, regardless of the particular drug or combination of drugs used including alcohol. Members share their successes and challenges in overcoming active addiction and living drug-free, productive lives through the application of the principles contained within the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of NA. Anyone is welcome no matter what was used or how big the desire to stop using is. Meetings are held Sunday and Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Fulton County Medical Center (follow the signs at the main entrance to the Pearl Room) and Saturday at 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 228 North Second Street, McConnellsburg. Tonoloway Service The Friends of Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Church will hold its annual fall service Sunday, October 1, at 2 p.m. The Sharon Singers from Sharon Mennonite Bible Institute will provide special music and lead in some congregational hymn singing. The director, Benjamin Good, will also give a presentation about a cappella singing and the history and unique use of “shape notes” in a cappella music. The church is located one mile north of the Mason-Dixon Line on U.S. Rte. 655.

Revival Rockhill Church of the Brethren will hold revival services beginning with love feast and communion Sunday, October 1, at 7 p.m. Service will continue until October 4. Special music each night. All are welcome.

Evening Of Praise The 13th annual evening of music and praise will be held Saturday, September 23, at 6 p.m., at Laurel Grove United Methodist Church, 17697 Amberson Road, Spring Run. Special music, freewill offering and refreshments.

Revival Dublin Mills Community Church, 2700 Dublin Mills Road, Hustontown, will hold fall revival meetings with evangelist Tim McVey October 1-6.
