3D Archery Shoot Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will hold 3D archery shoots Saturday, September 2 and 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Compound bows only; no crossbows. Cost is $10 per person for 30 shots.

Benefit Auction Ashlyn’s Angels will hold a benefit auction Saturday, September 9, at McConnellsburg American Legion. Doors open at 3 p.m. and auction begins at 5 p.m. Admission is $5 per person. Children 10 and under are free. Proceeds benefit Sam Gelsinger and Sis McQuade. Donations are still needed. Open House Anyone who has an interest in seeing a quilt that displays 293 names from the Wells Valley area circa 1920s is invited to Wells Valley United Methodist Church Sunday, September 17. Kay Wilcher, owner of the quilt, will be there between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to talk about the quilt.

Hixon Bible Camp Fall Festival Hixon Bible Camp Inc. will hold its third annual fall festival Friday, September 22 and Saturday, September 23 at 3472 McKees Gap Road, Warfodsburg. Festival starts at 8 a.m. both days. Live music, bake sale and food, vendors and yard sales, making and selling of apple butter, tractor shows and hayrides.

Mic Night Mic Night will be held at Warfordsburg Senior Center September 9, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Kitchen opens at 4 p.m. Food and drink will be available. Monetary donations are appreciated. Everyone is welcome. For more information call 717-294-6020.

Competition Shoot Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will hold a 3D archery range competition shoot Saturdays, September 16 and 23. Hunting bows only; no competition bows. Registration at 10 a.m. Shootoff starts at 10:30 a.m. Two person teams. Cost is $30 per team. Cash payout will be offered for first-place team. Must have seven teams or more to be able to pay a second-place team. Price of payout depends on number of teams entered. Three door prizes available to competition shooters only.

Barn Quilt Tours Fulton County Barn Quilt Committee will sponsor tours of barn quilts in the county during Fulton Fall Folk Festival on Friday, October 20. The northern route will leave at 8:30 a.m. from Giant parking lot. The southern route will leave from Giant at 1 p.m. Cost is $20 for one or $35 for those who want to do both tours. Sportsmans Bash Hancock Volunteer Fire Co. will hold a Sportsmans Bash Saturday, September 9, on Sensel Road, Hancock. Gates open at 1 p.m.; buffet at 2 p.m. All you and a guest can eat and drink for $20. A total of 27 cash and gun prizes drawn from 1:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Additional gun jars and tip jars. Cruisin Over Cancer Come plant a flower flag in the Crusin Over Cancer garden in honor or memory of those affected by cancer. This event will be a part of the Cruise-In For A Cause held September 16, at Thomas All Things Automotive, 21518 Great Cove Road, McConnellsburg, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Let’s weed out cancer.

Cruise-In For A Cause A cruise-in will be held September 16, rain or shine, at Thomas All Things Automotive, 21518 Great Cove Road, McConnellsburg, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. This event is being held to benefit the Terri J. Guyer family and Susan Saylor Hann who are battling cancer. A $10 donation is being accepted per registered vehicle with all donations going directly to the family of Terri J. Guyer and Susan Saylor Hann. Food will be available for purchase from Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. Bake sale items will also be available. Any year of cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome to help Terri and Susan. The first 50 registered vehicles will receive a thank-you gift bag. No alcoholic beverages. Sprint Cup Race Bus Trip A NASCAR Sprint Cup race bus trip to Richmond International Speedway will be held September 9 and 10. Food Sale Whips Cove Church will hold a soup, jelly, pickle and bake sale Thursday and Friday, September 7 and 8, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, September 9, from 8 a.m. to noon. The church is located at 5044 Moss Road, Warfordsburg. Available for sale will be processed vegetable, beef, venetian vegetable, chicken corn and ham and bean soup by the bowl or quart. Turkey Dinner A turkey dinner will be held at Breezewood Fire Co. Sunday, September 10, beginning at 11 a.m. Meals are available to eat in or take out. Ice Cream Festival Fairview United Methodist Church will hold a ice cream festival September 9. The church is located four miles north of Hustontown on North Hess Road. Homemade ice cream, soups, sandwiches, french fries and desserts will be for sale. Festival begins at 4 p.m.

Exercise Classes The following classes are available at the alumni community building: Yoga – Tuesdays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Zumba – Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Tai Chi – Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Pilates – Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Also come to the gym Monday, Wednesday and Fridays and walk inside, out of the weather, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. free. Operation Save A Life Operation Save a Life will be held September 13 at Fulton County Family Partnership, 22438 Great Cove Road, McConnellsburg, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Free dose of nasal NARCAN will e distributed at the conclusion of training. Alzheimer’s Support Group Do you have questions about caring for a loved one with dementia or Alzheimer’s? Visit the support group the third Tuesday of each month, at 6 p.m., at Fulton County Medical Center in the Pearl Room. Light supper is provided. Meetings are free. There is a speaker each month focusing on different subjects dealing with this illness. As we travel this journey together there is help here, with daily, weekly and monthly challenges for all stages.

Health Screening A health screening will be held September 23 at McConnellsburg VFW, from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Cost is $60. Optional tests are PSA $25 and Vitamin D $35. A screening consists of blood tests and a self-scoring health lifestyle evaulation. Blood test results will be mailed. To preregister call 1-800-776-6342 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Yoga Classes Reaching Wellness yoga classes will be held for all ages Tuesdays at 5 p.m., at the Fulton County Medical Center. Call for cost and to register at 717-860-5690.

Nutrition Class Fulton County nutrition awareness classes are held at Warfordsburg Senior Center on the third Monday of every month from 10:30 a.m. to noon. When the third Monday is a holiday, the class is held the fourth Monday. To register or sign up for lunch call 717-294-6020.

NAR-ANON Meeting The Nar-Anon Family Group is primarily for those who know or have known a feeling of desperation concerning the addiction problem of someone very near to you. We have travelled that unhappy road too, and found the answer with serenity and peace of mind. When you come into the family group you are no longer alone, but among true friends who understand your problem as few others could. Meetings have been moved from Thursday at 7 p.m. to Saturday at 7 p.m., at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 228 North Second Street, McConnellsburg. Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held every Monday morning at 11 a.m. (even holidays) in the Pearl Room, second floor of Fulton County Medical Center, and every Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the basement of Mc- Connellsburg Alumni Building, located at 301 East Maple Street. Both are open meetings that anyone can attend.

Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Wednesday and Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Fulton County Medical Center cardiopulmonary rehab gym. The cost is based on insurance. Call 717-485-6149 to see if insurance provider is accepted. Community Wellness is $40/month/person or $70/month/couple.

Narcotics Anonymous Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meets three times per week in McConnellsburg. NA is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. Membership is open to all drug addicts, regardless of the particular drug or combination of drugs used including alcohol. Members share their successes and challenges in overcoming active addiction and living drug-free, productive lives through the application of the principles contained within the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of NA. Anyone is welcome no matter what was used or how big the desire to stop using is. Meetings are held Sunday and Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Fulton County Medical Center (follow the signs at the main entrance to the Pearl Room) and Saturday at 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 228 North Second Street, McConnellsburg. Farmer’s Market Vouchers Farmer’s market vouchers are still available at the Fulton County Area Agency on Aging. Individuals age 60 and over who have not yet received vouchers this year with income for a 1-person household less than $22,311 and 2-person household less than $30,044, are eligible for the vouchers. Vendors Needed Akersville Fall Festival will be held October 19, 20 and 21, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with 49 spaces of crafters, vendors, food, live music, apple butter and cider, antiques, cars, tractors, kids’ activities and much more. Victory Garden Program Are invited to the Penn State Master Gardeners of Fulton County Victory Garden, located behind the McConnellsburg Firehall on Second Street September 21, at 9 a.m. and on the property of the United Presbyterian Church Administrative office. From 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. the gardeners will share what the sixth-year Victory Garden has done and answer any questions about the Penn State Master Gardener program. Master Gardener Workshop Penn State Master Gardeners of Fulton County invite all to participate in the summer workshops.
