Macey Ward To Reign Over 97th County Fair

Macey Ward Macey Ward This year’s Fulton County Fair Queen pageant will be a coronation and not a contest as only one Fulton County teen entered the contest.

Macey Ward will reign over the 97th annual Fulton County Fair when the Xi Eta Lambda-sponsored pageant kicks off fair week on Sunday evening, August 13, at 8 p.m.

Macey will be a senior at Southern Fulton High School. She is the 17-yearold daughter of Eugene and Joy Ward of Warfordsburg.

She is sponsored by Karlin and Missy Lynch, and her escort will be Branden Lynch.

Macey is involved in the Honor Society, Cove Mountain 4-H, prom committee, varsity softball, student council, and is secretary of her class.

She will be giving a 3-5 minute speech on “Why You Should Come To My Fair” and answer an impromptu question, which is required at the state pageant.

Entertainment for the coronation ceremony will be provided by talented singer and song writer Kaitlyn Myer. She will perform several songs, including the famous Dolly Parton song “Jolene.”

Kaitlyn Carolina Myer is a 14-year-old freshman at the Spring-Ford High School in Royersford, Pa. She has competed in the annual talent show at Chaplin’s in Spring City for the last three years and has been honored with third, second and first places, as well as performed at the 2016 State Fair Convention in Hershey.

Kaitlyn will perform on stage at the new Senior Citizens pavilion before the 6:30 p.m. vesper service, at the Fair Queen Coronation, and again afterward.

Local businesses have again generously donated prizes for the event.

Alann Schmidt will be the emcee for the evening

Admission is free and the 31st annual pageant will be preceded by the community vesper service at 6:30 p.m.
