Celebrate 50th Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Black Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Black Curtis and Sherry (Charlotte) Mentzer Black, Millerstown, Pa., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary August 5, 2017. Both were born in Fulton County and graduated from Forbes Road High School in 1963. Curtis was the son of Ralph and Della Black of Waterfall and Sherry’s parents were Howard and Lillian Mentzer of Clear Ridge.

They were married August 5, 1967, at St. Thomas United Methodist Church by Rev. William Littleton.

They celebrated the event with a buffet reception at Lily Manor in Mifflin, Pa., in Juniata County. More than 125 family and friends gathered to celebrate with them. The family surprised them also with a mystery trip the following weekend.

They are the parents of a daughter, Teresa, and husband Joe Hunker and a son, Todd (deceased), and wife Katy. They also have four grandchildren: Barak and Zachary Hunker and Kayla and Emily Black.

Curtis is a retired business education teacher from the Greenwood School District in Millerstown, and Sherry retired from the Juniata Valley Bank, also in Millerstown.

They enjoy traveling, volunteering for various organizations, working in their garden beds, entertaining on their patios, and enjoying their family.

They live at 403 Walnut Street in Millerstown.
