Man Wanted In Md. Arrested Here

A Dundalk, Md., man wanted in Baltimore County, Md., for multiple armed robberies was taken into custody early the morning of July 7 at Johnnie’s Motel in McConnellsburg.

McConnellsburg state police were able to locate Jesse Lee Fisher, 32, after they were contacted July 6 by the Baltimore County Police Department with information about Fisher’s whereabouts and then found the vehicle he was known to operate parked at the motel at 709 Lincoln Way East.

Fisher, police said, was taken into custody at 5 a.m. without incident and transported to the McConnellsburg state police barracks where he was processed. He was later arraigned by Magisterial District Justice Tamela Mellott Heming and transported to Bedford County Jail to await extradition.

According to the police, an active warrant for Fisher’s arrest was recorded with the National Crime Information Center.

DUI Arrest

State police reported that Haken Covert, 21, Mc- Connellsburg, was found driving under the influence of a controlled substance during a routine traffic stop July 4 at 2:29 a.m. on Route 30 in Todd Township. Police said that Covert was subsequently arrested for DUI.

Driver Suspected Of DUI In Two-car Crash

State police have reported that they are continuing their investigation into a two-vehicle accident June 30 at 3:54 p.m. caused by a Williamsburg, Pa., driver who is suspected of having been under the influence of a controlled substance. Police said that Tyler M. Baker, 26, was headed north on Great Cove Road in Todd Township and failed at an attempt to pass several other northbound vehicles, causing Baker’s 2006 Ford Focus to strike a southbound 2001 BMW 5401. Police said Baker suffered severe injuries and required EMS transport. The BMW’s driver, who police did not identify, was traveling at approximately 55 mph, wearing a seat belt and reported no injuries. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage.

Fails To Obey Stop Sign

Driver Tyler J. Beltz, 26, has been charged with a traffic violation by state police for failing to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of routes 915 and 30 on July 1 at 10:45 a.m. According to police, the Defiance, Pa., man was southbound on Rte. 915 in 2008 La Crosse CXL and was manipulating the radio when he failed to stop at the sign and crossed over Rte. 30, traveled down a hill and into the woods. Beltz was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

Warfordsburg Man Accused Of Gas Station Theft

A warrant for the arrest of Michael Brian Smith, 42, Warfordsburg, has been issued for his involvement in the January 19 theft of the Hancock Pit Stop gas station, according to an article recently published in The Hancock News. He is accused of stealing $2,648 and 13 packs of cigarettes valued at $7 each, the article stated.

Smith, who was on federal probation, was employed at the gas station and working alone for the first time when the theft occurred. An employee who stopped to check on him around 6 p.m. found the gas station unattended. Smith had been scheduled to work until 9:30 p.m. Months later, on May 4, he was located and arrested in Florida on federal fugitive from justice charges and incarcerated in Eastern Regional Jail, Martinsburg, W. Va.

The June 21 Hancock News story said the Hancock police seek to charge Smith with the gas station theft.

DUI Arrest

John F. Rotz, 46, Harrisonville, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and several summary traffic offenses following a single-vehicle accident at 11:20 p.m. on June 28 in Licking Creek Township. State police reported that Rotz was traveling on Route 30 and had fallen asleep at the wheel of his 2004 Dodge Caravan because he was intoxicated. As he rounded a curve his van struck a guiderail, went out of control and slid off the road into an embankment. The van, police said, sustained disabling damage as well as moderate damage to its front end, and Rotz, who was not belted, suffered suspected minor injuries.

Sexual Assault Investigation

State police have reported that an incidence of sexual assault/indecent assault reported to them on June 28 of this year is under investigation. The assault allegedly occurred between 9 a.m. Aug. 10, 2014, and 10 p.m. Aug. 16, 2014, at a residence on East Maple Street in Mc- Connellsburg. Police said that the suspect is known.

Terroristic Threats Made

State police arrested Frankie Alan Mills, 56, Warfordsburg, and charged him with making terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment after he berated and threatened to kill a 47-year-old Warfordsburg woman numerous times the evening of July 3. Police said Mills then drove his truck into the side of the Bethel Church Road home where the incident took place while the victim was still inside.

Pics Of Nude Girls Sent On Cellphone

Images of naked underage females were sent by someone to the cellphone of an individual at a Church Street, Hustontown, residence on June 29 between 12:06 p.m. and 12:16 p.m. State police did not identify the victim, but said they are continuing their investigation into this sexual abuse of children incident.

Simple Assault

State police have charged Alex Cole Deneen, 24, Mc- Connellsburg, for striking a 19-year-old Hopewell female with a car door after an argument the two were having June 23 turn physical. The 4:40 p.m. incident took place at Lincoln Way East and Sixth Street in Mc- Connellsburg. Police said that Deneen was apprehended later at his home.

Cited For Harassment

State police have reported that Bradley Scott Hollinger, 20, McConnellsburg, was cited for harassment after they were contacted for an alleged assault between two adults the afternoon of June 28. Police said the victim is a 20 yearold Crystal Spring female and that the alleged incident took place at a West Poplar Street, McConnellsburg, location.

Pushes Woman To Ground

A summary non-traffic citation for harassment has been filed by state police against a 42-year-old Burnt Cabins man for pushing a 42- year- old woman, also of Burnt Cabins, to the ground on July 1 at 2:49 a.m. According to police, the incident took place at a Grist Mill Road, Dublin Township, location.

Identity Theft

The identity and related information of a 77-year-old Pleasant Ridge Road, Needmore, woman was used by someone between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. June 23 to open a Dish Network account in the victim’s name. State police ask anyone with information to contact them at 717-485- 3131.

Pills Stolen

Someone stole pills from 802 East Poplar St. in Mc- Connellsburg between 6 p.m. July 4 and 6 p.m. July 5. State police said the victim is a 63-year-old woman.

Drives Into Utility Pole

Driver Tyrman T. White, 23, struck a utility pole on South Third Street July 4 at 10 p.m. when he was distracted by his cellphone and drove his 2007 Kia Optima off the road. State police said the McConnellsburg man then fled to his home. White has been charged with making false reports.

Borough DUI

Christopher David Adams, 40, Mount Union, has been accused by state police of operating a vehicle on Lincoln Way East in Mc- Connellsburg Borough while under the influence on July 5 at 8:18 p.m.

Charged With DUI

DUI Charges were filed against Angela Rae Rice, 39, Crystal Spring, after state police found her driving under the influence on July 1 at 8:31 p.m. during a traffic stop on the Lincoln Highway near its intersection with Lincoln Way West in Todd Township. Police reported that Rice was taken to Fulton County Medical Center for a blood draw.

Mailbox Damaged

A mailbox at 924 McKibbin Lane, Warfordsburg, was damaged by someone between 8 p.m. July 8 and 10:30 a.m. July 9. State police identified the victim as 32-yearold Amber Mirra.
