It’s almost sounding like a broken record, but Mother Nature had the upper hand again this past weekend in central PA racing action.

Port Royal Speedway was the lone local speedway to get its Saturday night show in as skies cleared in time for the track. Mark Smith led all 25 laps to win his first 410 Sprint car main of the season and his 33rd career. Smith defeated Steve Buckwalter, Rick Lafferty, 17th starter Greg Hodnett and Tyler Bear, with Aaron Ott, Dave Blaney, Mike Wagner, Logan Wagner and Brock Zearfoss the top-10 finishers.

Rick Singleton scored the win in the 22-lap Late Mod- el Main over Tim Smith Jr., Matt Parks, Austin Berry and Dylan Yoder, while it was Dave Grube taking the win in the 305 Sprints over Tyler Reeser, Drew Ritchey, Ron Aurand and Cale Reigle. Mark Watkins was ninth.

Racing action at Williams Grove and Trail-Way was rained out Friday, with Saturday shows rained out at Lincoln, Susquehanna and Selinsgrove.

The World of Outlaws is in town this week beginning Wednesday at Lincoln then Friday and Saturday action at Williams Grove.

Port Royal Speedway is gearing up for its big Bob Weikert Memorial over the Memorial Day weekend where the May 27 show will feature Fallen Heroes events for the 410 Sprints and Late Models. Sunday May 28 will see the 410 Sprints going after $10,000 to win, while URC 360 Sprints will also be on the card. There will be a Monday raindate for the Sunday show only.
