New York City Trip A trip to New York City will be held Saturday, November 26. Depart at 6 a.m. from McConnellsburg courthouse. Return departure is 6 p.m. from New York City. Winter Craft Show Shade Gap’s annual winter craft show will be held Saturday, November 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, November 20, from noon to 4 p.m. Two locations: Shade Gap auxiliary building and Dublin Township municipal building.

Senior Center Social Night Warfordsburg Senior Center will host a social night Saturday, November 19, at 5 p.m. Seniors 60 and older may attend and enjoy an evening of DJ music. Thrift Store Open House Better Days Animal League Thrift Store, Fort Loudon, will host a customer appreciation open house December 1, 2 and 3 at 9 a.m. All daily purchases receive one free entry into a raffle for a variety of prizes. Dodge Ball Tournament McConnellsburg Alumni & Friends Association will sponsor a dodge ball tournament for all ages in the alumni community building Saturday, November 26, to benefit the museums. Elvis Presley Tribute An Elvis Presley tribute will be held at Warfordsburg Senior Center. Ticket includes hot roast beef sandwich meal followed by the show December 3. Holiday Centerpiece Workshop A fresh holiday centerpiece workshop will be offered by the Penn State Master Gardeners of Fulton County December 3 or December 10, from 9 a.m. to noon,at Fulton County Extension Office, 610 East North Street, McConnellsburg. Cost is $20 and money must accompany a reservation. To reserve a seat call 717-325- 4870. All materials will be provided – if you have a special candle or accessories; please bring them. Please bring small pruners, scissors and gloves to handle the greens. This program has been enjoyed by many in the past. Shoe Box Drop-off Calvary Independent Baptist Church in McConnellsburg is a drop-off location for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child shoe box project. The location will be open November 14, 15,17 and 18, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Wednesday, November 16, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m; Saturday, November 19, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, November 20, from noon 4 p.m.; and Monday, November 21, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Any questions call the church at 485-4745.

Samaratian’s Purse Drop-offs Calvary Independent Baptist Church in McConnellsburg is a drop-off location for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child shoebox project. The location will be open November 14, 15, 17 and 18, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Wednesday, November 16, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday November 19, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, November 20, from noon to 4 p.m.; and Monday, November 21, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.


Alzheimer’s Support Group Do you have questions about caring for a loved one with dementia or Alzheimer’s? Visit the support group the third Tuesday of each month, at 6 p.m., at Fulton County Medical Center in the Pearl Room. Light supper is provided. Meetings are free. There is a speaker each month focusing on different subjects dealing with this illness. As we travel this journey together there is help here, with daily, weekly and monthly challenges for all stages.

Nutrition Class Fulton County nutrition awareness classes are held at Warfordsburg Senior Center on the third Monday of every month from 10:30 a.m. to noon. When the third Monday is a holiday, the class is held the fourth Monday. To register or sign up for lunch call 717-294-6020.

Yoga Classes Reaching Wellness yoga classes will be held for all ages Wednesdays at 5 p.m., at the Fulton County Medical Center. Call for cost and to register at 717-485-4492.

Operation Save A Life Training Anyone concerned that a loved one is at risk for overdosing on heroin or a prescription pain medication, this training is for you. Training participants will learn opioid types; how to recognize, respond to and prevent an opioid overdose; how to administer Intra- Nasal Naloxone (Narcan) to reverse an overdose. Attend the training that best suits schedule: October 3, at Warfordsburg Senior Center from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., or October 25 at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Registration is required for the training and spaces are limited. Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held every Monday morning at 11 a.m. (even holidays) in the Pearl Room, second floor of Fulton County Medical Center, and every Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the basement of Mc- Connellsburg Alumni Building, located at 301 East Maple Street. Both are open meetings that anyone can attend.

Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Wednesday and Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Fulton County Medical Center cardiopulmonary rehab gym. The cost is based on insurance. Call 717-485-6149 to see if insurance provider is accepted. Community Wellness is $40/month/person or $70/month/couple.

Narcotics Anonymous Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meets three times per week in McConnellsburg. NA is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. Membership is open to all drug addicts, regardless of the particular drug or combination of drugs used including alcohol. Members share their successes and challenges in overcoming active addiction and living drug-free, productive lives through the application of the principles contained within the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of NA. Anyone is welcome no matter what was used or how big the desire to stop using is. Meetings are held Sunday and Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Fulton County Medical Center (follow tehe signs at the main entrance to the Pearl Room) and Saturday at 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 228 North Second Street, McConnellsburg. Pancake/Sausage Breakfast A pancake and sausage breakfast will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church, 7404 Lincoln Highway, Harrisonville, November 19, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Served will be made-from-scratch pancakes, regular, blueberry and buckwheat, scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee and juice. Cost is $7.

Thanksgiving Dinner A free turkey dinner with all the trimmings will be held Thursday, November 24, from noon to 2 p.m., at McConnellsburg United Methodist Church. All are welcome. Please call 485-4815 with a count if attending. Delivery for shut-ins is also available. Call to arrange for delivery.

Thanksgiving Meal A free community Thanksgiving meal will be held Saturday, November 19, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church Faith Center. Dine-in only.

Meals Available Once a month volunteers pack up boxes of food to be given to anyone in need in the Waterfall area. Pickup is at Center United Methodist Church community building on Doran Road, Waterfall. More information may be obtained by calling 814-685-3780. Calls will be kept strictly confidential.

Free Meal A free meal will be served the second Tuesday of each month at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 220 North Third Street. Please join in for good fellowship.


Garden Club Meeting North End Garden Club will meet at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 22, at Dorothy’s home. Bring a money donation for the Food Basket. New members and guests welcome. More information at 485-4017.

Quilt Club Meeting Fulton County Quilt Club will meet Saturday, November 19, at 10 a.m., in the community room of Fulton County Library on North First Street, Mc- Connellsburg. This month’s class will be folded heart potholders. Bring two contrasting fat quarters of fabric, sewing machine, thread, scissors, cutting mat and rotary cutter. Insulbrite and batting will be furnished. Anyone interested in quilting is welcome to attend.

Sportsmen’s League Meeting Fulton County Sportsmen’s League will meet November 18, at 7 p.m., in the stone house at the trout nursery. The league meets the third Friday of each month except July and August. Mark calendars and attend each meeting to share input on decisions affecting the organization. Officers and board members for 2017 will be nominated. The drawing for the fall raffle will be held at the conclusion of the meeting.

Singles Meeting Knobsville Singles will meet Monday, November 14, at 11 a.m., for a turkey dinner at K’s Place. New members welcome.


Revival Knobsville Church of the Brethren will hold revival November 13-16. Garnet Myers from Trinity Church of the Brethren will speak nightly. There will also be special music each evening. Sunday School is held at 9:30 a.m.; Sunday morning worship services are at 10:30 a.m.; evening services begin at 7 p.m. A fellowship meal will be held at noon November 13.
